A Treasury Built on One Token
Stablecoin Development, formerly NovaBay Pharmaceuticals, accumulates and stakes SKY, the governance token of the Sky Protocol, and holds about 10 percent of total supply. Staking locks tokens in a Smart Contract in return for rewards paid in more SKY, about 34.6 million tokens in the third quarter. A January 2026 private Placement of pre-funded warrants raised USD 134.0 million, of which USD 109.0 million was paid in SKY and stablecoins. The board's stated aim is to deploy nearly all excess cash into SKY.
Marked to Market
The company reports its tokens at fair value, so results swing with the SKY price rather than with sales. In the second quarter a USD 50.6 million non-cash unrealized loss produced a USD 53.8 million operating loss even though no tokens were sold. At June 30, 2026 SKY was about 93 percent of USD 127.5 million in total assets, simple arithmetic. In the third quarter Fair Value rose to about USD 180.2 million, though these are preliminary, unaudited figures pending the Form 10-Q.
Why the Shares Fell Anyway
Published coverage cited no fresh company announcement for the 104 percent Friday jump, and the stock reversed on Monday even as the holdings update appeared. A move of that size in a low-priced stock can unwind quickly. Staking revenue of USD 2.2 million in the second quarter was small against token price swings of tens of millions of dollars. The risk is concentration: the Equity is effectively an exposure to one token's price.
Where Things Stand
The fall most likely reflects the Reversal of a speculative run, not a change in the holdings. Stablecoin Development (NYSEAMERICAN:SDEV) reported a larger SKY stake worth about USD 180.2 million, yet the shares fell 47 to 48 percent after jumping 104 percent on Friday. The stock trades on sentiment about SKY and on short-term momentum, and reported results swing with the token price. Next catalysts are the third quarter Form 10-Q with final figures, any SKY price move and any further token purchases, none of which has a confirmed date. Reported results will follow the token.
