Three Analyst Calls, Three Different Setups
Three high-profile technology names have drawn fresh attention from Wall Street: SpaceX (NASDAQ: SPCX), Intel (NASDAQ: INTC) and CoreWeave (NASDAQ: CRWV). Evercore ISI has raised its target on SpaceX, JPMorgan has upgraded Intel, and Goldman Sachs has upgraded CoreWeave. The situations differ, but each call comes down to how far the story has progressed and how much risk is left in the shares.
SpaceX: Evercore Raises Target to $275
Evercore ISI has raised its SpaceX price target to $275 from $230, an increase of about 19.6%, and kept its Outperform rating. The move is part of the firm’s Q3 earnings preview.
Analyst Kutgun Maral told investors that the company’s “transformative catalysts” are “closer than they appear.” Evercore expects the Q3 print to be judged less on the quarter than on the debates that should drive medium-term estimates and sentiment through year-end and into 2027.
The firm acknowledges the skepticism. Doubters point to a complex story built on long-dated initiatives that can feel more science fiction than financial model. Evercore contends the proof points are closer than many appreciate. It says Starship reached orbit and deployed its first V3 satellites on Flight 14, and that reuse could be proven within the next few flights. The firm sees transformative catalysts for SpaceX in 2027.
Intel: JPMorgan Moves to Neutral
JPMorgan has upgraded Intel to Neutral from Underweight, keeping its price target at $85. The firm sees a more balanced risk/reward with the shares nearing that target.
According to the analyst, Intel shares have pulled back 36% from their peak in June. JPMorgan also believes that since Lip-Bu Tan’s appointment as CEO, Intel’s execution and competitiveness in its core data center compute market has improved. The firm adds that execution on next-generation manufacturing has improved significantly.
A Neutral rating is a more measured stance than a Buy. Because the target is unchanged, the upgrade reflects the share price and the firm’s view of execution rather than a revision to valuation.
CoreWeave: Goldman Sachs Upgrades to Buy
Goldman Sachs has upgraded CoreWeave to Buy from Neutral and set a price target of $106, down from $139. The firm notes 73% upside to the revised target.
The stock is down 43% since Aug 11 and 24% in the last five trading days. Goldman attributes this to ongoing volatility in the credit market, which raises questions about whether, and at what rate, CoreWeave can finance its next phase of growth. There is also debate over demand for intelligence at the frontier versus off the frontier, and over whether a changing mix affects token monetization at CoreWeave’s customers.
Even so, Goldman believes CoreWeave’s ARR per MW, and therefore its unlevered IRR, is “biased to the upside” over the next 24 months because of tight supply. The firm also views CoreWeave as differentiated from other neoclouds.
Reading the Calls Together
Placed side by side, the three notes show different kinds of conviction. Evercore is raising its target and keeping a positive rating on SpaceX, looking toward milestones such as reuse and the catalysts it expects in 2027. JPMorgan is moving Intel from a negative stance to a middle one, with the shares already well below their June peak. Goldman is turning positive on CoreWeave after a steep drop, while cutting its target.
Two of the three stocks have fallen sharply from recent highs, according to the analysts, and in both cases the firms have chosen to upgrade rather than wait. For SpaceX, the focus is on future proof points rather than a pullback.
What Investors Should Watch
For SpaceX, the Q3 report and any update on Starship flights and reuse are the next markers. For Intel, progress in data center compute and next-generation manufacturing is central to JPMorgan’s view. For CoreWeave, credit market conditions and the financing of its growth remain the key variables, alongside the debate over demand mix and token monetization.
Analyst ratings can change quickly, and each of these calls rests on assumptions that still have to play out.
