Key Highlights

• License termination was announced on June 26, 2026, freeing the subsidiary from further milestone payments.

Q/C Technologies Inc. (NASDAQ: QCLS) disclosed that it will end its Technology License and Development Agreement with LightSolver Ltd.

License Termination Detail

The original September 2, 2025 License Agreement granted LPU Holdings LLC an exclusive right to use LightSolver’s laser processing hardware for cryptocurrency mining. By invoking the termination provisions, Q/C Technologies ends that exclusive arrangement and LightSolver forfeits any future contingent consideration.

Shift to Optical AI Strategy

Earlier, on March 18, 2026, Q/C Technologies launched an optical processing unit (OPU) program aimed at silicon photonic AI inference. The initiative targets the bandwidth, energy and latency limits of conventional electronic processors by exploiting light-based parallelism for matrix multiplication tasks common in AI workloads.

New San Francisco Base

On June 30, 2026, the company moved its headquarters to San Francisco, California, establishing a laboratory focused on integrated photonics. The location places Q/C Technologies near leading talent pools and firms specializing in advanced computing, photonics and artificial intelligence.

Expanded Talent Roster

The OPU effort is supported by a dedicated team, including Director Chelsea Voss. Additional hires from IPG Photonics, Neurophos and IonQ bring specialized expertise in photonic hardware and quantum-grade engineering.

IP Development and Patent Roadmap

Q/C Technologies plans to generate proprietary optical chip designs that address bandwidth, energy efficiency and scalability for AI inference. The company is also pursuing a robust portfolio of foundational intellectual property through systematic patent filings.

Market Outlook

By ending the crypto-focused license and concentrating resources on photonic AI computing, Q/C Technologies aims to capture emerging demand for high-performance, low-power inference solutions. The strategic pivot aligns with broader industry movements toward optical technologies as a complement to traditional GPU architectures.
