  • Revenue was USD 2.3 million versus USD 2.4 million, and PureFive production fell to 5.2 million pounds from 7.3 million pounds after operational issues the company said were resolved.
  • Cash, restricted cash and marketable securities totaled about USD 193.0 million at September 30, 2026, with a USD 200.0 million revolving Facility also available.

Warrant Revaluation, Not Operations, Drives the PureCycle Technologies (NASDAQ:PCT) Profit

PureCycle Technologies (NASDAQ:PCT) filed its Quarterly Report on November 4, 2026 for the period ended September 30. The company operates a plant in Ohio that turns waste polypropylene into recycled resin it sells as PureFive. Net income of USD 6.9 million came from other income of USD 44.3 million, mostly the USD 58.6 million warrant gain, which the filing attributes to a lower share price, a lower public warrant value and a shorter remaining term. Because warrants are carried as liabilities, a falling stock price reduces their value and creates a non-cash gain. The operating loss was USD 37.5 million against USD 38.9 million.

Production Dip and Lower Costs of Selling and Administration

Cost of operations rose about USD 3.5 million to USD 30.8 million as production fell and onsite compounding added USD 3.1 million of costs. Selling, general and administrative expenses dropped USD 4.9 million to USD 7.8 million, helped by about USD 3.0 million of lower legal costs after the settlement of an arbitration and about USD 2.0 million of labor capitalized to projects in Thailand and Belgium. Over nine months, Revenue rose to USD 11.0 million from USD 5.7 million, production rose to 18.1 million pounds from 15.0 million pounds, and the net loss was USD 168.8 million, including a USD 34.5 million loss from repurchasing convertible notes.

Funding Needs, Upcoming Redemptions and the Expansion Plan

In June 2026 the company repurchased USD 216.0 million of Green Convertible Notes for about USD 246.3 million in cash and issued 19.9 million shares at USD 8.21 each. The remaining USD 34.0 million of those notes can be put back on August 15, 2027, and its Series A Preferred Stock is redeemable for about USD 61.2 million on September 13, 2027. Management said current projections support obligations for at least 12 months, but longer-term funding depends on Ironton performance and building planned plants in Thailand, Belgium and Augusta, Georgia. Nine-month project spending was about USD 42.0 million, including USD 15.0 million to settle the arbitration.

Where Things Stand

The profit is an accounting result, not an operating one. PureCycle Technologies (NASDAQ:PCT) earned USD 6.9 million only because a USD 58.6 million non-cash warrant gain outweighed a USD 37.5 million operating loss, and that gain can reverse if the share price rises. Revenue of USD 2.3 million remains small, and third-quarter production fell. The company has about USD 193.0 million of Liquidity but faces 2027 redemptions and large plant spending. Next markers are Ironton output, product sales growth, and funding for the Thailand, Belgium and Augusta projects.
