Losses Widen as SGT-003 Moves Toward Phase 3

Solid Biosciences (NASDAQ:SLDB) filed its Quarterly Report on November 4, 2026. The loss from operations was USD 57.7 million against USD 48.1 million, partly offset by USD 3.7 million of other income, mostly interest. Research and Development expense rose on higher personnel, SGT-212 Manufacturing and clinical costs, and SGT-003 manufacturing. The company develops gene therapies for rare neuromuscular and cardiac diseases, led by SGT-003 for Duchenne muscular dystrophy. Nine-month research and development expense was USD 134.0 million versus USD 102.2 million, and the net loss was USD 1.23 per share versus USD 1.46.

Type C FDA Meeting, 53 Dosed Patients and Pipeline Dates

SGT-003 had been generally well tolerated in 53 participants dosed in the Phase 1/2 INSPIRE DUCHENNE trial as of November 3, 2026, with two previously disclosed treatment-related serious adverse events. The first participant in the Phase 3 IMPACT DUCHENNE trial was dosed in April 2026. The company said process performance qualification manufacturing batches are expected by the end of 2026. For SGT-212 in Friedreich's ataxia, five participants are dosed and initial data are expected in the first quarter of 2027. SGT-501 for CPVT expects first dosing by the end of 2026 and initial safety data in the first half of 2027.

Funding Runway, Dilution and Accumulated Deficit

The accumulated Deficit was USD 1.1 billion, and management expects significant losses for the foreseeable future and substantial additional funding needs. In the third quarter the company sold 2.0 million shares through its at-the-market program and issued 4.3 million shares on pre-funded Warrant exercises, which add shares and can dilute existing holders. Weighted average shares used for the per-share loss were 151.0 million, above the 111.6 million common shares outstanding on October 30, 2026; the extract does not reconcile the gap, and pre-funded warrants are a likely factor. The company also licenses its capsid and manufacturing technologies, with more than 50 agreements executed to date, though the filing gives no Revenue figure from them. Interest income was USD 3.3 million. Clinical results, regulatory feedback and financing terms remain the key risks.

Where Things Stand

The cash balance covers roughly the next two years of planned spending on the company's own estimate, so it is enough for the current plan but not for commercialization beyond that point. Solid Biosciences (NASDAQ:SLDB) says funding lasts into the first half of 2028, yet losses are widening and more Capital will be needed. Next markers are the late fourth quarter FDA meeting and its minutes, manufacturing batches by year end, and early 2027 data from SGT-212. No stock price reaction was included in the filing.
