Ouster, Inc. (NASDAQ: OUST) moved sharply higher on Monday after announcing an expanded manufacturing agreement with Benchmark Electronics designed to accelerate production of its next-generation Rev8 OS lidar sensors.
The expanded partnership is intended to support commercial-scale manufacturing as Ouster seeks to meet growing demand across multiple end markets, including robotics, industrial automation, smart infrastructure, automotive technology, and defense applications.
According to the company, the Rev8 platform represents a significant advancement in lidar technology and includes what Ouster describes as the industry's first native color lidar sensors. The company believes the enhanced capabilities of the platform can broaden adoption across industries that require more detailed environmental perception and sensing capabilities.
