Match Group, Inc. (NASDAQ:MTCH) shares were trading near their 52-week high at USD 46.18 on October 21, 2026, down 0.76%. The online dating group saw Apple remove its Azar app in February, restored the app on April 6, repaid exchangeable notes in June, and filed its second quarter 2026 report on August 5.

Based in Dallas, Texas, Match Group is a Delaware corporation that describes itself as a leading provider of digital technologies designed to help people make meaningful connections. Its brands include Tinder, Hinge, Match, Meetic, OkCupid, Plenty Of Fish, Pairs and Azar. During the second quarter it reorganized into three operating segments: Tinder, Hinge and Everyone Everywhere, which combines its other brands. Its fiscal year ends December 31.

Hinge Gains Offset Declines Elsewhere

Revenue for the quarter ended June 30, 2026 was $853.1 million, down from $863.7 million. Direct revenue, which comes from users, slipped 1% to $839.9 million, while indirect advertising revenue fell 28% to $13.2 million. Payers declined 6% to 13.25 million, but revenue per payer rose 6% to $21.13.

Hinge was the growth engine, with direct revenue up 22% to $203.5 million on 17% more payers, which the company linked to its European expansion. Tinder direct revenue fell 1% to $457.5 million as payers dropped 5%, partly offset by a 4% rise in revenue per payer. Everyone Everywhere declined 17% to $178.9 million, including a $19 million drop at Azar and decreases at several other brands.

Profit improved. Operating income rose 27% to $245.5 million, and net income attributable to shareholders was $170.5 million, or $0.70 per diluted share, versus $125.5 million, or $0.49. Adjusted EBITDA, a non-GAAP measure, rose 14% to $331.3 million. Hinge operating income rose 62% to $63.1 million, while Tinder's fell 3% to $210.9 million. For six months, revenue was $1,717.0 million, up 1%, net income was $337.4 million, or $1.37 per diluted share, and Adjusted EBITDA was $674.2 million.

Azar, Legal Matters and Capital Allocation

Apple removed Azar from its App Store on February 22 after an update to its review guidelines, and a compliant version returned on April 6. The company said the removal reduced direct revenue in both periods, and it recorded a $25.2 million impairment on the Azar trade name in the first quarter.

The filing also covers legal matters. A $60.5 million class settlement over Tinder's age-tiered pricing received final court approval on June 5, 2026, and the company paid it into escrow during the half. A settlement of a Federal Trade Commission investigation was approved by the court on April 30. In Ireland, the Data Protection Commission issued a draft decision on July 9 in its inquiry into Tinder's data handling, which Match said it will defend vigorously.

Operating cash flow was $564.2 million for the half, up from $437.0 million. Cash and cash equivalents fell to $580.6 million from $1,027.8 million at year-end, after Match repaid $423.9 million of 0.875% exchangeable notes on June 15, bought back 7.3 million shares for $245.4 million, paid $90.9 million in dividends and made a $100.0 million minority investment in Sniffies. Total debt was $3.575 billion, and $499.4 million remained available under its revolving credit facility.

Buybacks and Expectations for 2026

Under its $1.5 billion repurchase program, $697 million remained available as of July 31, 2026, after a further 0.4 million shares were bought for $16.2 million in July. The program may be suspended or discontinued at any time.

The filing contains no revenue or earnings guidance. Match expects 2026 cash capital expenditures of $65 million to $75 million, higher than in 2025 because of leasehold improvements and capitalized labor, and said its cash flows should cover its obligations. Its nearest debt maturity is $450 million of 5.00% senior notes due December 15, 2027. These are company expectations, and the filing lists risks such as users not converting to paying subscribers and its restructuring and reorganization.
