- Farmmi (NASDAQ:FAMI) traded at USD 0.1120, up 8.42%, with a market capitalisation of about USD 4.2 million according to market data and a fiscal 2025 net loss of USD 53,385,988.
- VivoSim Labs (NASDAQ:VIVS) traded at USD 0.1597, up 5.07%, while shares outstanding rose from 3,194,295 on June 30, 2026 to 13,390,789 on Monday, August 3, 2026.
- Vivakor (NASDAQ:VIVK) traded at USD 1.38, up 4.55%, after second quarter 2026 gross margin reached 20.7%. No company-specific announcement dated on or just before the session accompanied any of the four moves.
Dogness (NASDAQ:DOGZ): a double-digit bounce on weak margins
Dogness (NASDAQ:DOGZ), a pet products company with traditional and intelligent product lines, rose in a pre-market session with no accompanying announcement. The most recent company release, dated Friday, September 4, 2026, concerned a voluntary cut in the monthly base salary of the Chairman and Chief Executive Officer from USD 10,000 to USD 5,000, effective Tuesday, September 1, 2026. The gain appears consistent with thin liquidity in a low-priced stock, where small orders can move quotations by double digits.
The release of Wednesday, April 1, 2026 put first-half revenue at USD 7.7 million, down 36.2%, with gross margin of 11.2%. The prior fiscal year, ended Monday, June 30, 2025, showed revenue of USD 20.7 million, up 39.5%, and gross margin of 24.3%. The sharp margin decline explains why a bounce is better read as a trading reaction than a fundamental re-rating. The bull reading rests on traditional product growth, the roughly 20% fall in administrative costs and the 19.5% stake in Dogness Intelligent Technology Co., Ltd. The bear reading rests on the revenue decline, listing compliance below USD 1.00 and dilution, since a USD 6.0 million private placement at USD 5.00 per share was completed in May 2025. Cash and guidance were not disclosed.
Farmmi (NASDAQ:FAMI): a tiny capitalisation against a large equity base
Farmmi, Inc. (NASDAQ:FAMI), a Cayman Islands holding company whose operating subsidiaries are based in mainland China and which has historically focused on edible fungi products, trades at a level where a few orders matter. The most recent releases are the Nasdaq minimum bid price notice of Wednesday, August 12, 2026 and the acquisition framework agreement of Tuesday, August 4, 2026. A sub-USD 1.00 price with such a small capitalisation can move sharply on small orders, so the gain appears consistent with thin liquidity, an inference.
The annual report on Form 20-F covers the year ended September 30, 2025. Revenue was USD 27,971,360, against USD 64,131,332 in fiscal 2024, and shareholders' equity was USD 123,857,452. Farmmi priced an underwritten offering of 12,000,000 Class A shares and pre-funded warrants at USD 0.25 on Monday, June 29, 2026, raising about USD 3.0 million gross, and on August 4 agreed a framework to acquire 100% of FOUR SEASONS HOLDING GROUP BRAZIL LTDA, payable in Class A shares.
The bull reading is that the equity base at September 30, 2025, if realisable, far exceeds the market capitalisation. The bear reading is that revenue more than halved and that the quote is about 55% below the offering price, by simple arithmetic. Under Listing Rule 5550(a)(2) the company has until Monday, February 8, 2027 to close at or above USD 1.00 for 10 consecutive business days, and share-based acquisition consideration dilutes holders.
VivoSim Labs (NASDAQ:VIVS): liquidity against a fast-growing share count
VivoSim Labs (NASDAQ:VIVS), a San Diego based services company that tests drug candidates in three-dimensional human liver and intestine tissue models, rose without comment from the company. The most recent disclosure reviewed is the Form 8-K of Thursday, August 6, 2026, which reported compliance with a Nasdaq equity rule, a milestone payment from Eli Lilly and Company and a July financing. The advance appears consistent with thin liquidity, an inference and not a reported cause.
For the fiscal first quarter ended June 30, 2026, revenue was USD 18,000 and the net loss was USD 1.3 million, or USD 0.25 per share, per the earnings summary. Cash was approximately USD 10.1 million at August 3, reflecting a USD 5.0 million milestone payment and USD 1.0 million of escrow release from Eli Lilly and Company for the earlier sale of its FXR programme, plus a financing of Friday, July 17, 2026 with gross proceeds of USD 4.0 million at USD 0.85 per underlying share.
The bull reading rests on that cash against the quarterly loss and on a stated target of fiscal 2027 revenue growth above 500%, measured from a very small base. The bear reading rests on dilution, largely through warrant exercises, with the quote well below USD 0.85, by simple arithmetic, and very small revenue adds risk. A price below USD 1.00 may draw the minimum bid price rule into play, an inference.
Vivakor (NASDAQ:VIVK): a margin gain in a low-margin business
Vivakor (NASDAQ:VIVK), an integrated provider of sustainable energy transportation, storage, reuse and remediation services, rose after the most recent disclosure reviewed, the second quarter 2026 earnings release of Friday, August 21, 2026. The advance appears consistent with thin liquidity and with ordinary rebounds in small energy names. Both readings are inferences and not reported causes. Revenue was USD 32.1 million, up 10% from USD 29.1 million, and gross profit rose 45% to USD 6.6 million.
Operating expenses fell 43% to USD 6.5 million, mainly through lower depreciation and amortisation, which produced operating income of about USD 0.2 million against a loss of about USD 6.8 million. The net loss attributable to Vivakor narrowed 78% to about USD 2.8 million. The bear reading rests on revenue composition: Supply and Trading, the crude oil sourcing and resale unit, produced USD 26.5 million of revenue but only about USD 1.1 million of gross profit. Six month revenue fell to USD 51.6 million from USD 66.4 million, partly because of a July 2025 divestiture. The release disclosed no guidance, cash balance or debt figures.
Where Things Stand
The answer is that thin liquidity explains the direction of all four moves but not their meaning. Dogness (NASDAQ:DOGZ) bounced from a weak margin base, Farmmi (NASDAQ:FAMI) rose with a market capitalisation far below its equity, VivoSim Labs (NASDAQ:VIVS) rose while its share count multiplied, and Vivakor (NASDAQ:VIVK) rose after a better quarter whose revenue came mostly from low margin trading.
The next catalysts are the Federal Reserve decision on Wednesday, October 28, 2026, which follows the rate rise of Wednesday, September 16, 2026, the Dogness annual results for the year ended June 30, 2026, the Farmmi compliance deadline of Monday, February 8, 2027 and the next filings of VivoSim Labs and Vivakor, for which no dates have been announced. Pre-market prices are thinly traded snapshots and can change before the open at 9:30 a.m. ET, and this is not investment advice.
