Bausch + Lomb (NYSE:BLCO) was one of the standout healthcare stocks on the day, soaring after the eye-health company raised its outlook for 2026. The company lifted its full-year revenue forecast to a range of $5.450 billion to $5.550 billion and raised its adjusted EBITDA forecast to $1.090 billion to $1.140 billion, with the shares rallying at a double-digit pace by the close.
A higher forecast for both sales and profit at the same time is a notable update, suggesting management expects the rest of the year to go better than previously thought.
Why the Raise Mattered
Raising the adjusted EBITDA range, a common measure of operating profit, suggests the company expects revenue gains to translate into stronger earnings rather than being eaten up by costs. Investors appeared to focus on that combination of top-line and bottom-line improvement.
Bausch + Lomb sells contact lenses and lens-care solutions, prescription eye drops and other pharmaceuticals, consumer eye-health products, and surgical equipment and lenses used in cataract and other eye procedures.
A Family Relationship
The company is majority-owned by Bausch Health, which spun it off through an initial public offering, and that relationship has long been a factor for investors in both stocks. Bausch Health itself reported results the same evening and soared in extended trading after beating expectations and raising its own 2026 outlook.
The rally was part of a strong day for parts of the healthcare sector more broadly, with GE HealthCare and Labcorp both climbing after raising their own guidance.
