Aletheia Capital initiated coverage of Securitize Corp. (NYSE:SECZ) with a Hold rating on Tuesday, September 29, 2026, and the tokenization platform's shares closed at $15.84, down 4.75% from $16.63. The S&P 500 eased 0.17% to 7,670.84.
The Coverage Initiation
Aletheia Capital analyst Brooksley Kang acknowledged Securitize's leading position as a digital transfer agent in tokenized securities and pointed to the Securities and Exchange Commission's five-year Innovation Exemption as a significant market opportunity. The firm's base model assumes a $26 trillion tokenized stock market with 50% penetration over three years, and projects that Securitize captures 0.08% to 0.50% of trading volume.
Kang's concern was valuation. The analyst said current trading levels already price in significant optimism around volume growth, and that long-term value depends on the company moving from setup fees to recurring revenue as token issuance becomes commoditized.
What Tokenization Means for the Business
Tokenization represents ownership of an asset, such as a fund or a stock, as a digital token on a blockchain. Securitize provides the platform and transfer-agent services that issue and track those tokens, so its revenue depends on how much issuance and trading moves onto tokenized rails.
Growth and Losses
Securitize's trailing twelve-month revenue was $66.77 million, up 258.3%, while the net loss over the same period was $66.81 million. The initiation projects annual revenue growth of 80% to 100%. The stock closed about 7% below its 52-week high of $17.01 and roughly three times its 52-week low of $5.14, and its market value was about $2.71 billion.
A Tokenization Story Meets a Hold Rating
Tuesday's decline came a session after the shares closed at $16.63, near the top of their yearly range, and it left Securitize with a market value that the initiating analyst described as already reflecting significant expectations for growth.
