Flat Sales, Higher Profit in the Third Quarter

Interparfums (NASDAQ:IPAR) filed its third-quarter 10-Q on November 4, 2026. Net sales of USD 429.5 million were unchanged, with a 0.4% currency headwind and a 1% drag from the Middle East war. Income from operations rose to USD 117.9 million from USD 108.6 million. Net income attributable to common shareholders was USD 68.2 million, or USD 2.13 a diluted share. The company designs and sells prestige fragrances mainly under licenses, including Jimmy Choo, Coach, Montblanc and GUESS. European based sales rose 4% to USD 305.9 million, with Coach up 23% and Montblanc up 12%. United States based sales fell to USD 127.3 million, which management tied to Supply chain disruption that delayed giftset shipments.

Gross Margin Gains, Tariff Refunds and Rising Costs

Gross margin of 67.1% compared with 63.5% a year earlier, helped by favorable Brand and channel mix and lower destruction costs of USD 9.6 million. The filing says USD 17.3 million of tariff refunds have been received, with USD 14.8 million booked as a non-recurring cut to cost of sales and USD 1.0 million in selling, general and administrative expenses. Those costs still rose, to 39.7% of net sales from 38.2%, on employee costs, Royalty mix and logistics. Royalty expense was USD 36.7 million. Management plans to reinvest the refunds in promotion, expecting full-year spending to approach about 21% of net sales.

Regional Weakness, Debt Drawn and the Nine-Month Picture

Over nine months, net sales rose 1% to USD 1,115.4 million, and diluted EPS was USD 4.43 versus USD 4.36. Middle East and Africa sales fell 19% and Eastern Europe sales fell 15%, while North America grew 4% and Asia/Pacific 12%. Cash, equivalents and short-term investments were USD 240.2 million. The company drew euro 55.0 million of a euro 200 million Facility signed August 12, 2026 to fund its share repurchase program, with euro 145.0 million still available. Risks include dependence on licenses and currency swings, since about half of European sales are in dollars while costs are in euro.

Where Things Stand

It came from margins, not sales. Interparfums (NASDAQ:IPAR) held net sales flat but lifted Operating Margin to 27.4% through mix, lower destruction costs and tariff refunds that the filing calls non-recurring. Management said the delayed giftsets will be recognized in the fourth quarter and that it keeps a measured but positive outlook. Watch the fourth-quarter holiday season, the remaining USD 1.4 million of unrealized refunds and the euro facility. The filing gives no formal guidance figures.
