Segment Results and Margin Drivers

Gross margin widened to 33.5% from 32.4%, which the company tied to its operational and portfolio excellence programs, partly offset by USD 11.3 million of higher intangible amortization and Middle East disruptions. The Flowserve Pumps Division posted sales of USD 830.4 million and segment operating income of USD 168.0 million, a 20.2% margin versus 16.9%. The Flow Control Division generated sales of USD 411.6 million, but segment operating income slipped to USD 34.2 million from USD 46.4 million, an 8.3% margin, as realignment charges in cost of sales reached USD 26.8 million.

Sales into North America rose USD 45.2 million, while sales into the Middle East fell USD 21.5 million. The effective tax rate was 12.4%, aided by a USD 23.1 million valuation allowance release in Italy.

Outlook Commentary and Risk Factors

The company did not set numeric guidance for 2026. Management described a dynamic environment shaped by armed conflict involving Iran, geopolitical instability and trade policy actions, and said backlog, execution and acquisitions provide a revenue base for the year. The company submitted a USD 35.4 million refund request for IEEPA tariffs paid between February 2025 and February 2026, had received cash of USD 34.3 million through September 30, and filed a further USD 1.7 million request on October 6.

Capital expenditures are estimated at about USD 90.0 million for 2026. The 2025 Realignment Programs involve total investment of roughly USD 202 million, with annualized savings of USD 167.5 million targeted on completion. Acquisitions included the Trillium valves division effective June 30 and the remaining 51% of FAMCO in May.

Measures to Follow

Four items frame the next disclosure. Backlog of USD 3.5 billion, of which 40.2% is aftermarket, is the first. The second is the Flow Control Division margin of 8.3%, down 400 basis points from a year earlier. The third is liquidity: cash of USD 742.1 million and USD 827.0 million of revolver capacity, against nine-month operating cash flow of USD 230.3 million versus USD 506.1 million. The fourth is capital return, with USD 75.0 million repurchased year to date and the board lifting remaining repurchase capacity to USD 500.0 million effective October 26.
