Ecolab (NYSE:ECL) reported third-quarter net sales of USD 4.695 billion on Tuesday, up 13% from USD 4.165 billion, with organic sales growth accelerating to 7%. Volume growth improved to 2% despite continuing disruption in the Middle East, and pricing strengthened to 5%. The reported operating margin was 17.3% and reported gross margin 44.1%. Adjusted gross margin fell 70 basis points on the effect of acquisitions, though organic gross margin was stable as pricing offset higher commodity costs.

Net interest expense rose USD 70 million on financing for the Ovivo Electronics and CoolIT acquisitions, and acquisition-related amortization and financing costs from CoolIT weighed about 10% on adjusted earnings per share growth.

Guidance and Management View

Looking to 2027, the chief executive said he expects organic sales growth at the upper end of the 5% to 7% target and an adjusted operating margin of 20%.
