As per our previous US Daily Report published on ‘X’ on June 04, 2025, we provided a ‘Buy’ stance on the stock at USD 53.76 based on “United States Steel Corporation’s solid fundamentals, demonstrated by a 5% EBITDA margin in its North American Flat-Rolled segment, steady Q1 2025 revenues of USD 3.727 billion despite seasonal challenges, improved profitability in its Mini Mill segment with a 10% EBITDA margin, associated risks such as low capacity utilization of 65% in Flat-Rolled, a healthy cash balance expected to improve with positive Q2 free cash flow, low debt levels supporting financial stability, and current valuation poised to benefit from the recent 50% steel import tariffs announced on June 1, 2025”.

United States Steel Corporation Ceased Public Trading Following Completion of Nippon Steel Acquisition:

United States Steel Corporation formally ceased public trading and was delisted from the New York Stock Exchange upon the successful completion of its acquisition by Nippon Steel Corporation in June 2025. The transaction marked the culmination of a significant strategic combination within the global steel industry, with shareholders receiving the agreed cash merger consideration of approximately USD 55 per share. The completion of the deal followed the satisfaction of required regulatory and national security conditions, resulting in U.S. Steel transitioning from a publicly listed entity to a privately held subsidiary under Nippon Steel ownership.
