Anterix (NASDAQ:ATEX) was trading up 4.26% at $85.71 in today's regular session, a gain of $3.50 from the prior close of $82.21. Shares are outperforming the communication services ETF on lighter-than-average Volume as investors position for the fiscal second-quarter report due November 10, with the conference call set for November 11.
Anterix, based in Woodland Park, New Jersey and formerly known as pdvWireless, is the largest holder of licensed 900 MHz spectrum in the United States, covering the contiguous states, Alaska, Hawaii and Puerto Rico. It works to monetize that spectrum for utilities and other critical-infrastructure enterprises building private broadband networks for grid modernization and operational resilience. It has 64 employees.
What Analysts Expect for the Fiscal Second Quarter
Consensus calls for revenue of roughly $2.05 million and a loss of $0.30 per share. A year earlier the company reported a loss of $0.14 per share on revenue of $1.55 million. First-quarter fiscal 2027 revenue was $1.96 million, and in the quarter reported on August 11 the company posted Earnings of $0.01 per share against a consensus loss of $0.43.
Commentary around the stock centers on a trailing price-to-earnings ratio of 24.46 against analyst expectations for sharply lower earnings, with most of the 900 MHz spectrum still unmonetized. Trailing earnings are negative $1.95 per share and the 52-week range is $17.58 to $113.00.
From Spectrum Leasing to Recurring Revenue Offerings
In fiscal 2026 Anterix widened its model beyond long-term spectrum leasing to include spectrum sales, clearing and retuning. It also added recurring-revenue offerings: the TowerX tower access program, CatalyX turnkey connectivity management and the Anterix Active Ecosystem of more than 150 technology partners. Revenue from these offerings remains modest and depends on the timing of large contracts.
Investors are watching Utility broadband conversions, including TowerX and CatalyX, and FCC action on the 10 MHz expansion. The consensus rating is Moderate Buy with a target of $120, and insiders have sold heavily in recent months. The shares were up about 3.3% near $84.93 earlier in the session.
Spectrum Lease and Sale Activity Is the Focus Heading Into November 10
Anterix is trading higher into its fiscal second-quarter report. The next items to follow are the November 10 results and the November 11 conference call, spectrum lease and sale activity, utility customer progress and the pace of revenue and cash burn.
