Zillow Group, Inc. (NASDAQ:ZG) has rolled out messaging, a new feature within the Zillow® app that enables home shoppers to communicate, share listings, and stay organized in one convenient location. 

Home-buying conversations often happen across multiple apps, which can lead to scattered information and missed updates. Zillow’s latest feature consolidates all listing-related chats into a single thread, helping users keep their discussions clear and accessible. 

“This new messaging product brings the collaboration that already happens across text messages directly into Zillow,” said David Beitel, Chief Technology Officer at Zillow. “It’s another step toward making the home journey simpler and more connected. We’re continuing to bring more of the experience onto Zillow, so buyers can move from browsing to closing with less friction and more confidence.” 

According to the company, over 60% of buyers co-shop, often purchasing properties jointly. With the new feature, users can invite partners, friends, or family members directly from the app’s inbox to participate in the search and discussion process. 

Fall Product Launch Introduces Expanded Digital Solutions 

The messaging feature headlines Zillow’s Fall Product Launch, which introduces several updates designed to make home buying and renting more efficient. 

Key new tools include: 

  • Virtual Staging: Found on Zillow Showcase℠ listings, this AI-powered tool restyles empty rooms in various interior themes such as modern or Scandinavian. 
  • Zillow Home Loans Verified Pre-Approval: A guided digital process that helps buyers become mortgage-ready faster through secure verification. 
  • Closing Dashboard: Developed in partnership with Spruce®, this tool enables users to monitor title and escrow tasks throughout the closing process in one unified view. 
  • RentalsAI Assist (powered by EliseAI): Provides renters with instant, 24-hour automated responses to questions about listings, tours, and availability. 

All of these tools — including Messaging, Virtual Staging, Verified Pre-Approval, and RentalsAI Assist — are now active within the Zillow app. 

Ongoing Innovation Across Zillow’s Ecosystem 

The introduction of Messaging follows a year of continued product advancements at Zillow. Earlier in 2025, the company launched SkyTour, a 3D aerial experience available on Showcase listings, along with Zillow Pro℠ for real estate professionals and integration of the Zillow app with ChatGPT. 

Zillow has also released features such as BuyAbility℠ and the Rent Affordability Calculator, which assist shoppers in evaluating what they can afford. Together, these tools contribute to Zillow’s mission of creating a more connected and transparent real estate experience through technology.
