Autozi Internet Technology (Global) Ltd. (NASDAQ:AZI) announced two conditional strategic proposals within four days in August 2026: a letter of intent for a reverse takeover, and a plan to seek economic exposure to SpaceX as a treasury asset. Neither is a completed transaction, and the company has said there is no assurance either will close. Together they signal an attempt to reshape a business whose core vehicle-services revenue has been shrinking.

A Proposed Reverse Takeover

Autozi provides automotive products and services in China through online and offline channels, including new car and parts sales, insurance-related services and maintenance. It listed on Nasdaq via IPO in August 2024. On August 7, 2026, the company said it had signed a letter of intent with a privately held operating company, whose identity remains confidential pending due diligence. The counterparty is expected to be valued at about $300 million, with the combined company valued at about $320 million, and the parties are targeting completion before the end of 2026, subject to due diligence, definitive documents, financing and regulatory approvals.

A SpaceX Treasury Plan

On August 10, 2026, Autozi said its Hong Kong subsidiary intended to pursue a significant position providing economic exposure to SpaceX, to be held as a strategic treasury asset. The release gave no dollar amount and said the company was evaluating financing options, including secured financing backed by the position. Chief Executive Houqi Zhang said the move, if completed on acceptable terms, would represent a strategic treasury opportunity.

A Weak Financial Backdrop

Trailing twelve-month revenue was $72.47 million, down 53.7%, with a net loss of $37.56 million. Nasdaq notified Autozi in March 2026 that it was not in compliance with the minimum market value requirement. The company regained compliance with a similar requirement in April 2025.

A Gap Between Ambition and Disclosure

Neither the reverse-takeover counterparty nor the size of the proposed SpaceX position has been disclosed, and financing for both proposals remains unsecured. Investors may watch for a definitive reverse takeover agreement, further detail on the SpaceX proposal, an update on Nasdaq compliance, and the company's next financial results.
