Broadcom (NASDAQ:AVGO) was trading up 2.90% at $331.59 in today's regular session, a gain of $9.36 from the prior close of $322.23, ahead of the broader market. The move is part of a chip-stock rebound on Election Day after a sharp selloff in AI-linked semiconductors, with the Philadelphia semiconductor gauge up about 3.5% and NVIDIA (NASDAQ:NVDA) up roughly 3%.

The AI Backlog Investors Are Weighing

Broadcom's Semiconductor Solutions segment supplies custom AI accelerators, known as XPUs, along with Ethernet switching and networking silicon, storage controllers and broadband, wireless and optical products to hyperscalers, Data Center operators and device makers, with TSMC (NYSE:TSM) handling manufacturing. The Infrastructure Software segment sells private cloud, mainframe and Cybersecurity subscriptions, including VMware, CA Technologies and Symantec's enterprise security unit.

The AI backlog includes a $63 billion Anthropic financing and a $230 billion fiscal 2028 AI revenue target. Weighing against that are valuation, Debt and execution questions. Fiscal 2025 revenue was $63.9 billion with a free Cash Flow Margin of roughly 42%.

Rebound Catalysts and Where the Shares Stand

A technology upgrade from Deutsche Bank and a constructive stance from Bernstein, which keeps Broadcom and NVIDIA as top picks, have framed the rebound. The stock remains below its 50-day and 200-day moving averages and below its 52-week high of $495.00, with a 52-week low of $289.96.

Broadcom has a forward price-to-earnings ratio of 17.25, a trailing ratio of 42.37, trailing Earnings of $9.76 per share and a Dividend Yield of 0.78%. The Nasdaq Composite is up 1.1% while the Nasdaq-100 remains in correction territory, about 10% below its recent high.

AMD Earnings and the Midterm Results Are the Next Catalysts

Broadcom is trading higher with the chip group. The next items to follow are Advanced Micro Devices (NASDAQ:AMD) earnings after the close today, and the reaction to the midterm election results in AI-linked stocks.
