Despite a broad pullback in the U.S. stock market on September 24, 2025, a handful of NASDAQ names broke away from the downward tide. Biotech innovator UniQure (QURE), clinical-stage developer Cidara Therapeutics (CDTX), and digital real estate disruptor Opendoor Technologies (OPEN) each delivered standout gains, fueled by breakthrough trial results, encouraging regulatory milestones, and timely strategic investments.

UniQure (NASDAQ:QURE)

UniQure led the market rally with a 247.7% jump in its stock price, closing at USD 47.50. The surge followed the release of positive results from the company’s AMT-130 gene therapy trial for Huntington’s disease. The therapy demonstrated substantial slowing of disease progression over three years, boosting expectations for regulatory approval in the US and Europe.

Cidara Therapeutics (NASDAQ:CDTX)

Cidara Therapeutics also recorded notable gains, closing at USD 88.58 with a 20.5% increase. The uptick came after the FDA granted fast-track status for its CD388 non-vaccine flu prevention therapy. This accelerated trial expands the target patient population, including older adults at higher risk of severe influenza, highlighting the drug’s potential market impact. Analysts have projected substantial global revenue potential from successful commercialization.

Opendoor Technologies (NASDAQ:OPEN)

Opendoor Technologies rose 16.2% to USD 8.23 following news that Jane Street, a prominent trading firm, acquired a 5.9% stake in the company. The strategic investment has reinforced confidence in Opendoor’s digital real estate platform, which facilitates seamless home buying and selling through technology. Market enthusiasm reflects optimism around Opendoor’s growth trajectory and operational innovations.

Yesterday’s trading highlighted the market’s focus on companies with  innovation and clinical progress. Biotech breakthroughs, such as UniQure’s gene therapy and Cidara’s flu prevention drug, captured significant attention, while tech-enabled platforms like Opendoor continue to benefit from strategic partnerships and investor interest.
