CGI (NYSE:GIB) a global IT and business consulting firm, has entered into a go-to-market alliance with OpenAI to support enterprise-level adoption of artificial intelligence. The collaboration focuses on helping organizations integrate AI tools at scale, particularly in regulated and operationally complex environments. Under the agreement, OpenAI becomes part of CGI’s global alliance ecosystem, which already includes more than 150 technology providers.

The initiative reflects a shift in enterprise AI usage from experimental pilots to broader operational deployment. CGI’s role centers on implementation, governance, and operational integration rather than AI model development.

AI Literacy and Workforce Enablement
As part of the partnership, CGI will integrate OpenAI training resources into its internal AI literacy program. This effort is designed to improve AI fluency across different levels of the organization, ranging from basic daily use to advanced prompt engineering and customized AI roles.

Additionally, CGI plans to equip tens of thousands of consultants with access to ChatGPT Enterprise. The deployment falls under the company’s “Client Zero” approach, which involves adopting new technologies internally before extending them to clients. The focus remains on workflow automation, enterprise decision support, and operational efficiency within controlled environments.

Feedback Loop and Deployment Frameworks
The collaboration also includes a feedback mechanism aimed at refining AI deployment models. CGI and OpenAI will collect insights related to implementation challenges, security considerations, and adoption frameworks. These insights are intended to inform improvements in technology deployment practices, particularly for large organizations operating across multiple jurisdictions.

CGI’s experience managing AI systems at scale is expected to contribute to refining governance and security practices without altering existing regulatory requirements.

Position Within CGI’s Alliance Strategy
OpenAI joins a group of technology partners that includes Microsoft, Apple, Google, and AWS within CGI’s global alliance strategy. This framework allows CGI consultants to evaluate and deploy multiple technologies based on client requirements rather than relying on a single platform.

The addition of OpenAI expands CGI’s AI-related offerings without changing its broader consulting and systems integration model.
