- Adds admin sharing controls for cloud integrations to improve collaborative governance.
- New UIs simplify setup and table connections for BigQuery integrations.
- Cloud data location settings allow project and dataset selection for output tables.
Domo (NASDAQ: DOMO), an AI and data products company, announced a set of enhancements to its existing integration with Google Cloud’s BigQuery aimed at improving governance, user experience, and multi-user collaboration for joint customers. The updates focus on administration controls, clearer configuration workflows, and finer-grained handling of where integration output is written.
Key functional improvements include Cloud Integration Sharing, which addresses previous limitations around integration access by allowing administrators to share integrations while configuring permissions. That feature is intended to enable teams to manage integrations collaboratively, with administrators able to control which accounts and datasets users can access through shared integrations. The change could reduce one-off integration requests and clarify responsibility for connected data sources.
Domo also introduced refreshed user interfaces for both BigQuery integration configurations and for connecting BigQuery tables. The new configuration UI offers step-by-step guidance and enhanced documentation management so integration setups and related resources are easier to locate and understand. A separate UI for connecting BigQuery tables provides direct visibility into which tables are currently linked via cloud integrations, and which are not, simplifying the mapping process and reducing potential confusion when managing multiple datasets.
Another notable addition is Cloud Data Location Configuration, which allows users to select the specific project and dataset where output data for a table is written. This gives organizations more explicit control over data residency and organizational structure for integration outputs, a consideration for teams managing compliance, cost allocation or regional data strategies.
Ben Schein, SVP of Product at Domo, commented: “Our enhanced BigQuery integration represents a significant step forward in democratizing data access across organizations,” said Ben Schein, SVP of Product at Domo. “By streamlining the user experience and strengthening governance capabilities, we’re empowering both technical teams and business users to collaborate more effectively with their cloud data. The improved UI and enhanced integration features will help joint customers accelerate their data initiatives.”
