Tractor Supply Company (NASDAQ:TSCO) is due to report third-quarter results on October 22, 2026 before the market opens, and the setting is notably more cautious than a year ago. After its second-quarter report, the rural lifestyle retailer lowered its 2026 guidance, which makes the next update a test of whether demand is stabilizing.
The company announced the webcast of its third-quarter earnings call on October 9, 2026.
What the second quarter showed
For the quarter ended June 27, 2026, Tractor Supply reported revenue of $4.54 billion, up from $4.44 billion a year earlier, according to market data. Net income was $360.7 million, or $0.69 a share, against $430.0 million, or $0.81 a share, in the same period of 2025.
A summary of the earnings call put sales growth at 2% and comparable-store sales, a measure of trading in established stores, down 1.5%. It said the full-year outlook had been lowered.
Scale of the business
Tractor Supply sells farm, pet, home and outdoor products through a large network of stores in the United States. Full-year 2025 revenue was $15.52 billion, up 4.3%, with earnings of $1.10 billion, down 0.5%. On a trailing twelve-month basis revenue is $15.75 billion, net income is $1.01 billion and earnings per share are $1.92. The company's indicated annual dividend is $0.96 a share, and the most recent ex-dividend date was August 24, 2026.
Expansion continues. The company said in September 2026 that it had opened its eleventh distribution center, in Nampa, Idaho. It also announced support for more than 1,000 American fairs in 2026 and a seasonal gifting push in early October.
Earlier quarters show how seasonal the business is. Revenue was $3.59 billion in the quarter to March 28, 2026, with net income of $164.5 million or $0.31 a share. In the quarter to December 27, 2025 it was $3.90 billion, with net income of $227.4 million or $0.43 a share, and in the quarter to September 27, 2025 it was $3.72 billion, with net income of $259.3 million or $0.49 a share. Third-quarter profit a year ago therefore sets the comparison bar for the report due on October 22.
Press coverage in early August 2026 framed the company as retrenching while it looks for a rebound.
Risks and what to watch
Falling comparable sales and lower profit per share against last year are the central concerns. Competitive pressure in pet and rural retail, and consumer caution on discretionary spending, are plausible headwinds.
October 22 Is the Next Verifiable Milestone
Tractor Supply's second-quarter report combined 2% sales growth with a 1.5% decline in comparable-store sales, net income of $360.7 million against $430.0 million a year earlier, and a lowered full-year outlook. Trailing twelve-month revenue is $15.75 billion with earnings per share of $1.92, and the company has opened its eleventh distribution center, in Nampa, Idaho.
The October 22 results are the next verifiable milestone for the guidance reset. Investors will look for the third-quarter comparable-sales figure, any further change to full-year guidance, margin commentary and how new distribution capacity affects costs, while the earnings release and call will carry the definitive numbers and any revised outlook.
