Bob's Discount Furniture (NYSE:BOBS) shares are climbing after Evercore initiated coverage with a Buy rating and an $18 price target, a level the stock moved through during the session. The Manchester, Connecticut-based value home furnishings retailer sells upholstery, case goods, mattresses and bedding through showrooms and eCommerce. Volume remains below average, and shares are outpacing a firm consumer discretionary group.
Evercore Initiation Meets a Lockup Expiry
Evercore's initiation with a Buy rating and $18 target was published at the end of last week. The IPO lockup expiry for blocks of shares is also flagged on today's calendar, a potential Supply overhang that makes the strength notable.
The sector exchange-traded fund for consumer discretionary stocks was up about 3% earlier in the session as oil fell on Iran diplomacy and futures rebounded from Friday's tech-led selloff.
Value Model Built on Fewer SKUs and Fast Delivery
Founded in 1991, the company competes on everyday low prices, using a curated assortment with about one-third fewer SKUs than value-oriented competitors. A vertically integrated logistics network can deliver most orders in as few as three days. The Bain Capital-backed retailer went public in February 2026.
First-quarter 2026 net revenue was $578.1 million, up 8.5%, with comparable sales growth of 1.2%. The company operated 214 showrooms in 26 states as of the quarter and plans to expand to more than 500 stores by 2035.

Elevated yields and a market-implied probability of roughly 73% for a December Fed rate hike remain a backdrop for big-ticket furniture demand.
