In the second quarter of FY25 (Q2FY25),AMD’s revenue and reserve income reached USD 7,685 million compared to USD 5,835 million in the same quarter last year, reflecting an increase of 31.7%. Net profit was USD 872 million, marking a 229.1% yoy growth, supported by higher revenue alongside higher operating expenses. Cash inflow from operating activities for the year to date was USD 2,950 million, compared to USD 1,114 million in the prior period, an increase of 264.8% due to higher net income and changes in working capital. Cash and cash equivalents stood at USD 4,442 million year to date, compared with USD 3,787 million in the same period last year, an increase of 17.3%.
Business Update
On July 12, 2025, AMD presented its plans for an open AI ecosystem at the Advancing AI 2025 event. The company introduced the MI350 Series GPUs and the Helios rack-scale solution, designed for up to 10x performance in frontier models, along with updates to the ROCm 7 software stack. AMD also highlighted collaborations with organizations, including Meta and OpenAI.
Company Outlook
For the third quarter of 2025, AMD projects revenue of approximately USD 8.7 billion, plus or minus USD 300 million. This reflects an expected year-over-year increase of 28% and a sequential increase of 13%, supported by the MI350 Series ramp and continued CPU share gains. The company expects a non-GAAP gross margin of 54%. CFO Jean Hu noted ongoing investments in research and development and go-to-market activities related to AI. The outlook also reflects the exclusion of MI308 revenue from China due to a U.S. government review.
