Shares of Endeavour Silver (NYSE:EXK) slid on Friday, October 30, 2026, as the price of silver sank toward $49 an ounce. The Vancouver-based silver producer moved with the metal, according to market reports, and no company-specific news was found to explain the decline.

Endeavour mines silver and gold. As a relatively small producer whose Revenue depends heavily on silver, its shares tend to move sharply when the metal's price swings. On Friday, that sensitivity worked against the stock.

Silver's slump

Silver traded around $49.14 to $49.28 an ounce, a steep one-day drop. Gold also fell to a 52-week low: December futures declined $132.50 to settle at $3,898.90, according to market data, well below the metal's January record of $5,595.

Fed-hike repricing, firm oil prices and Inflation worries pushed gold to a one-year low and silver sharply lower, according to market data. Because precious metals pay no interest, expectations of higher rates tend to reduce their appeal relative to interest-bearing assets. The dollar index slipped to 101.92 on Friday, so the metals' slide came despite a softer dollar. Copper also fell, to $6.51 a pound, and Natural Gas declined to $2.883.

The rate outlook turns hawkish

CME FedWatch data showed traders treating a December rate increase as the likely outcome. The Federal Reserve left its benchmark rate range unchanged at its Oct. 27-28 meeting in a 10-2 vote, with Governor Lisa Cook and Cleveland Fed President Beth Hammack dissenting in favor of a hike. The September statement had signaled a rate increase, and the Fed raised rates that month.

On Friday, three Fed officials argued that rates need to go higher. St. Louis Fed President Alberto Musalem said: "I judge that additional firming of Monetary Policy will be necessary, and soon." Chair Kevin Warsh had said after the meeting: "The Committee will deliver price stability."

Inflation data have supported the hawks. Thursday's report showed both headline and core PCE inflation at their highest levels since May. A Wealth advisor said: "Today's data strengthens the case for another rate increase in December."

Silver miners move as one

Endeavour had plenty of company. Hecla Mining (NYSE:HL), Coeur Mining (NYSE:CDE) and Silvercorp Metals all slid with silver, with no company-specific news, according to market reports. Gold miners Newmont (NYSE:NEM) and Agnico Eagle Mines (NYSE:AEM) fell, and streaming company Wheaton Precious Metals (NYSE:WPM) declined as well.

The broader market also struggled. The S&P 500 fell 140.32 points to 7,580.07, the Dow Jones Industrial Average lost 572.25 points to 51,770.31 and the Nasdaq Composite dropped 747.73 points to 25,437.00, its worst day since June, after Intel (NASDAQ:INTC)'s cash-burn warning set off a global chip selloff. The Russell 2000 slid 47.37 points to 2,811.84. Oil climbed, with West Texas Intermediate crude rising $2.12 to $104.12 a barrel on tensions around Iran.

What to watch

Silver's price will remain the main driver for Endeavour's shares. Investors will watch whether the metal can hold near $49 an ounce or slides further, and how expectations for a December Fed hike shift.

Next week's ISM purchasing managers' surveys and the October jobs report on Friday, Nov. 6, could move those expectations. The midterm elections on Tuesday, Nov. 3, and developments in the Middle East that affect oil and inflation are also on the radar for precious-metals investors.
