What Is Due and When
NovaGold Resources (NYSEAMERICAN:NG), which is listed on NYSE American and the Toronto Stock Exchange, said it will release its 2026 third quarter results before the market opens on October 8, 2026, followed by a video webcast and call at 8:00 a.m. PT, or 11:00 a.m. ET. The date in the screener is confirmed. Published consensus is a loss of USD 0.07 per share and no revenue, which fits a development-stage company with nothing to sell. The latest quote is USD 6.62, for a Market Value near USD 2.9 billion. The second quarter loss was USD 0.06 per share and the first quarter loss was USD 0.04, so the loss is widening.
Spending on Donlin Gold
NovaGold Resources (NYSEAMERICAN:NG) funds 60 percent of Donlin Gold in Alaska, a project it describes as the largest undeveloped gold resource in the United States. The loss is spending rather than operations: engineering for the bankable feasibility study, with Fluor as lead engineer and WSP, Worley and Hatch working on the power plant, gas pipeline and oxygen plant. The company expects 2026 operating spending of USD 98.5 million, including USD 78.8 million for Donlin Gold and USD 19.7 million of corporate costs, and says current resources cover the study and a prepayment of its Barrick promissory note. More Capital will be needed for detailed engineering later.
The Paulson Deal and Risks
On July 22 the company agreed to acquire Paulson's 40 percent stake in Donlin Gold for shares valued at a 10 percent discount to that interest. Holders would receive one share of a new Delaware company for each current share, owning about 65 percent of it, while Paulson's voting power would be capped at 19.99 percent. Approval needs two-thirds of votes cast at the November 3 meeting, plus court approval, and about 28 percent of shares are committed through voting agreements. Risks include dilution, permitting and construction financing for a very large project, gold price swings and further cash burn. The company said closing is expected in the fourth quarter.
Where Things Stand
NovaGold Resources (NYSEAMERICAN:NG) is due to report a loss with no revenue, which is normal for a gold developer, and the question for investors is cash, not sales. A USD 370.2 million cash balance covers the planned 2026 spending, and the Paulson vote on November 3 matters more for the share structure than the quarter itself. The next catalyst is the October 8 release and webcast. This is informational analysis, not Investment advice, and results may differ from consensus.
