Veralto (NYSE:VLTO) rose 8.61% on Friday after reporting third-quarter results that showed higher sales, wider adjusted margins and stronger cash flow, along with a higher full-year earnings forecast. The water quality and product quality company released its results on October 29, and the move held up through a session in which technology stocks were sold hard.
Sales, Profit and Cash Flow
Sales rose to $1.509 billion from $1.404 billion. Core sales growth, which excludes currency and acquisitions, was 5.1%, led by Water Quality. Adjusted operating profit was $386 million, and the adjusted Margin widened from a year earlier. GAAP net earnings were $253 million, or $1.03 per diluted share, up from $0.95. The Guidance Update
Veralto raised its full-year 2026 adjusted earnings forecast to $4.49 to $4.52 from $4.35 to $4.43, nudged up the bottom of its core sales growth range, lifted its expected adjusted Operating Margin expansion to about 50 basis points and raised its free cash flow conversion target. For the fourth quarter it guided adjusted earnings to $1.13 to $1.16 per share.
A Steady Profile
Veralto was spun off from Danaher (NYSE:DHR) and makes instruments, software and consumables for water analysis and treatment, plus product identification and packaging tools. Much of its sales come from recurring consumables and services, which gives it a steadier profile than many industrials. The S&P 500 fell 140.32 points, or 1.8%, to 7,580.07 and the Nasdaq Composite dropped 747.73 points, or 2.9%, to 25,437.00, as Intel (NASDAQ:INTC)'s weak outlook triggered a chip rout and Amazon (NASDAQ:AMZN)'s results revived worries about AI spending. Steady compounders that raised guidance had a ready audience.
Water Quality Leadership
Investors will watch whether Water Quality keeps leading growth, whether Product Quality and Innovation picks up, how costs are managed to protect margins and whether Veralto hits its fourth-quarter guidance.
