CareDx (NASDAQ:CDNA) was among Friday's top US gainers, rising 19.08% after the transplant diagnostics company reported strong third-quarter growth and raised its full-year forecasts. The results, released alongside an 8-K filing dated October 29, showed rapid expansion in testing volumes and a jump in profitability.

Volumes and Profit Jump

Third-quarter revenue rose 39% to $139.4 million from $100.1 million. Testing services, the core business, brought in $119.2 million, up from $72.2 million, on roughly 75,900 tests, which is where CareDx earns money from blood tests that help doctors monitor transplant patients for signs of rejection. GAAP Net Income was $19.3 million, or $0.35 per diluted share, compared with $1.7 million a year earlier, and adjusted EBITDA roughly doubled to $30.5 million from $15.3 million. Chief executive John Hanna called it another strong quarter of solid execution.

A Second Guidance Raise

CareDx lifted its 2026 revenue forecast to $520 million to $530 million from $490 million to $500 million and raised its adjusted EBITDA forecast to $90 million to $100 million from $66 million to $78 million. It had already raised revenue guidance after its second-quarter report in July. Consecutive increases carry weight because they suggest management is setting achievable targets and then beating them.

Healthcare Held Up Better

The S&P 500 fell 140.32 points, or 1.8%, to 7,580.07 and the Nasdaq Composite dropped 747.73 points, or 2.9%, to 25,437.00, as Intel (NASDAQ:INTC)'s weak outlook triggered a chip rout and Amazon (NASDAQ:AMZN)'s results revived worries about AI spending. Healthcare held up better than technology, and several names posted large gains on earnings, including Regeneron (NASDAQ:REGN). Not every healthcare name fared as well. Agios Pharmaceuticals (NASDAQ:AGIO) fell after the FDA extended a review, underscoring that moves were driven by company news.

Sustaining the Pace

CareDx develops diagnostic tests and services for transplant patients, so accelerating volumes and a big jump in profit can prompt a sharp rerating. Investors will watch whether testing volumes keep growing at this pace, how reimbursement trends hold up and whether the raised guidance proves conservative again. Federal Reserve officials said rates may need to go higher, and futures priced a strong chance of a December hike, while US midterm elections on November 3 add another source of uncertainty.
