Key Highlights

  • Richmond Mutual Bancorporation (NASDAQ:RMBI) is listed for a third quarter 2026 announcement after the close on October 26, 2026, and published market data showed no consensus estimate and no reported figures at the time of writing.
  • Second quarter 2026 profit was USD 2.2 million, or USD 0.22 per diluted share, down from USD 2.8 million, or USD 0.28, in the first quarter because of USD 1.9 million of merger costs and a higher provision.
  • The net interest margin rose to 3.22% in the second quarter from 3.10% in the first quarter and 2.93% a year earlier, with net interest income of USD 12.1 million.
  • Farmers Bancorp was acquired on July 1, 2026, so the third quarter is the first to include it, and the combined bank is now called First Bank Midwest.

What This Preview Covers

This is a results preview, not a results report: no third quarter figures were available at the time of writing. The latest published results are for the second quarter of 2026, released on July 27, 2026. Loans and leases were USD 1.23 billion, up from USD 1.19 billion at March 31, deposits were USD 1.15 billion and total assets were about USD 1.55 billion. Equity was USD 148.3 million, book value per share was USD 14.11 and the bank's Tier 1 leverage ratio was 10.90%. Chief executive Garry Kleer called the merger an important milestone, and president Christopher Cook said the immediate priority is a seamless integration for customers.

What Farmers Changes

The acquisition closed after the second quarter ended, so the third quarter balance sheet, interest income and expenses should step up when Farmers is consolidated, and comparisons with earlier quarters will not be like for like. The second quarter already carried USD 1.9 million of nonrecurring merger costs, and further integration costs can follow. The company has said the expected benefits of the merger may take longer than expected or may not materialize. Brokered time deposits were USD 264.3 million of USD 1.15 billion of deposits, about 23%, simple arithmetic on two published figures, a funding source that is typically costlier than core deposits. Comparisons will need adjustment for the acquired balances.

Credit, Risks and What to Watch

Nonperforming loans rose to USD 21.8 million, or 1.78% of loans, from 1.48% in the first quarter, with two multi-family loans driving much of the increase. The allowance was USD 17.0 million, or 1.39% of loans, covering 77.9% of nonperforming loans, and second quarter net charge-offs were USD 557,000. Published market data put the market value of Richmond Mutual Bancorporation (NASDAQ:RMBI) near USD 254.2 million. Investors can watch the net interest margin after consolidation, nonperforming loans including the multi-family credits, integration costs and the size of any purchase accounting adjustments in the quarterly report. The quarterly report should also show the allowance on acquired loans and any fair value marks, which can change reported credit ratios after a merger. Capital ratios will also be updated for the larger balance sheet.

Where Things Stand

The answer is that the third quarter has not been reported in the data reviewed, so the effect of the Farmers deal is not yet known. Beyond the step up in balance sheet size, the margin trend from 3.22% and the nonperforming loan ratio of 1.78% are the figures to compare. For Richmond Mutual Bancorporation (NASDAQ:RMBI) the integration into First Bank Midwest and credit trends will decide how the combined bank's earnings look. The quarter should also show merger costs.
