- CB Financial Services (NASDAQ:CBFV) earned adjusted USD 0.91 per share against USD 0.81 expected, with GAAP profit of USD 5.3 million. MainStreet Bancshares (NASDAQ:MNSB) reported USD 0.43 per share, while published market data shows USD 0.47 against USD 0.58 expected.
- Credit separates the group: nonperforming loans were 0.28% of loans at CB Financial Services (NASDAQ:CBFV). They were USD 92.0 million, or 4.71% of gross loans, at MainStreet Bancshares (NASDAQ:MNSB), against USD 23.4 million a year earlier.
- Richmond Mutual Bancorporation (NASDAQ:RMBI) had not reported at the time of writing, and its third quarter is the first to include Farmers Bancorp, acquired on July 1, 2026. Citizens Community Bancorp (NASDAQ:CZWI) raised its dividend 14% to USD 0.12.
Avidbank Holdings (NASDAQ:AVBH): a USD 10.2 million quarter and a temporary deposit
Avidbank Holdings released third quarter results for the quarter ended September 30, 2026 on October 26, 2026. Diluted earnings per share were USD 0.94 against published consensus of USD 0.87, a beat of about 8%, simple arithmetic on two published numbers. Net income was USD 10.2 million, up from USD 7.6 million in the second quarter, so profit rose about 34% quarter on quarter, also simple arithmetic. Chief executive Mark Mordell said the bank was very pleased with its third quarter performance and remains focused on consistent growth and long-term value for shareholders. The company gave no numerical guidance. Published market data showed a market value of about USD 346.75 million for Avidbank Holdings (NASDAQ:AVBH) before the release. Net interest margin measures net interest income against earning assets, and Avidbank's fell 19 basis points from the second quarter to 4.07%. The company said the decline came mainly from higher cash balances created by a temporary large client deposit, because cash earns less than loans. Investors can watch the fourth quarter report for the pace of deposit outflows, loan growth and the margin, and the Form 10-Q for credit detail on Avidbank Holdings (NASDAQ:AVBH).
Citizens Community Bancorp (NASDAQ:CZWI): a 27% beat, a lower provision and a 14% dividend increase
Citizens Community Bancorp reported third quarter 2026 results on October 26, 2026. Diluted earnings per share were USD 0.56 against published consensus of USD 0.44, a beat of about 27%, simple arithmetic on two published numbers. Nine-month net income was USD 10.3 million, or USD 1.06 per diluted share, so the third quarter supplied more than half of the year's profit, simple arithmetic on two published figures. The release is preliminary until the Form 10-Q is filed in November. Chief executive Stephen Bianchi said the strong quarter reflected continued execution of the strategic plan with lower provision expense, and that the board and management continue to work with investment bankers on strategic opportunities, without naming any transaction. Profit recovered mainly because the provision for credit losses, the amount set aside for expected loan losses, fell to USD 0.13 million from USD 4.33 million in the second quarter, and net charge-offs were only USD 5,000, which means almost no loans were written off during the quarter. The net interest margin rose to 3.37% from 3.22%.
CB Financial Services (NASDAQ:CBFV): a 3.75% margin and clean credit
CB Financial Services released third quarter results on October 26, 2026. Adjusted diluted earnings per share were USD 0.91 against published consensus of USD 0.81, a beat of about 12%, simple arithmetic on two published numbers, while GAAP diluted earnings per share were USD 0.99 against a loss of USD 1.07 in the third quarter of 2025. Adjusted net income of USD 4.9 million excludes items the company treats as non-recurring, which explains why GAAP profit of USD 5.3 million is higher. Chief executive John Montgomery said the bank delivered solid results with an improved net interest margin and earnings. Published market data showed a market value near USD 198.94 million for CB Financial Services (NASDAQ:CBFV). The net interest margin, the spread between what a bank earns on assets and pays on funding, rose to 3.75% from 3.68% in the second quarter and 3.64% a year earlier. Total loans slipped to USD 1.16 billion, with commercial real estate growth offset by declines in indirect auto and commercial and industrial loans, and Montgomery expects payoff activity to moderate in the fourth quarter.
MainStreet Bancshares (NASDAQ:MNSB): a margin gain against USD 92.0 million of problem loans
MainStreet Bancshares released third quarter 2026 results on October 26, 2026. Net income was USD 3.6 million, or USD 0.43 per diluted share, down from USD 4.5 million, or USD 0.52. Published market data lists reported earnings of USD 0.47 against consensus of USD 0.58, and the difference from the release figure probably reflects the data provider's adjustments, which cannot be confirmed. A provision of USD 1.9 million, about USD 0.21 per share, was recorded. Nine-month net income was USD 12.4 million, or USD 1.48 per share. Net interest income rose to USD 18.8 million, the fourth consecutive quarterly increase, and the fully taxable-equivalent net interest margin rose to 3.55% from 3.42% a year earlier. Loans grew 7.9% from a year earlier, which shows lending demand even as credit costs rose. Credit is the story. Bank-level CET1 is 14.21% and the leverage ratio is 12.66%, both preliminary, and book value is USD 26.36 per common share.
Richmond Mutual Bancorporation (NASDAQ:RMBI): the first quarter with Farmers Bancorp
This is a results preview, not a results report: no third quarter figures were available at the time of writing. The latest published results are for the second quarter of 2026, released on July 27, 2026. Loans and leases were USD 1.23 billion, up from USD 1.19 billion at March 31, deposits were USD 1.15 billion and total assets were about USD 1.55 billion. Equity was USD 148.3 million, book value per share was USD 14.11 and the bank's Tier 1 leverage ratio was 10.90%. Chief executive Garry Kleer called the merger an important milestone, and president Christopher Cook said the immediate priority is a seamless integration for customers. The acquisition closed after the second quarter ended, so the third quarter balance sheet, interest income and expenses should step up when Farmers is consolidated, and comparisons with earlier quarters will not be like for like. Published market data put the market value of Richmond Mutual Bancorporation (NASDAQ:RMBI) near USD 254.2 million.
Where Things Stand
The answer is that the three beats came from different sources: a profit jump at Avidbank, a lower provision at Citizens Community and a wider margin at CB Financial. MainStreet Bancshares (NASDAQ:MNSB) missed because of credit, and Richmond Mutual Bancorporation had not reported at the time of writing. Top 5 here means the five banks on the October 26, 2026 calendar reviewed, not a recommendation or ranking of future returns. Next filings from Avidbank Holdings (NASDAQ:AVBH) will add detail. Fresh disclosure from Citizens Community Bancorp (NASDAQ:CZWI) is the next test. Official notices from CB Financial Services (NASDAQ:CBFV) remain the best guide. Further company updates from MainStreet Bancshares (NASDAQ:MNSB) are awaited. Reporting from Richmond Mutual Bancorporation (NASDAQ:RMBI) should clarify the picture.
