Which Media and Internet Companies Reported the Most Revenue in the Latest Quarter?
Five media and internet companies that reported results around Nov 2, 2026 are ranked by quarterly revenue. Fox (NASDAQ:FOX) ranks first at $4,571 million, followed by Roku (NASDAQ:ROKU) at $1.502 billion, Match Group (NASDAQ:MTCH) at $891.2 million, People Inc (NASDAQ:PPLI) at $430.8 million and Ibotta (NYSE:IBTA) at $97.8 million.
Fox reported its fiscal first quarter ended Sep 30, 2026, and the other four reported the third quarter ended on that date. The theme is broad: it covers broadcast and cable television, a streaming platform, dating apps, a publishing group and a promotions network, so each company is described only on its own results.
Three of the five grew revenue, with Roku up 24%, Fox up 22% and Ibotta up 17%. Match Group and People Inc each reported lower revenue, and People Inc posted the group's largest net loss because of an investment markdown.
1. Fox: How Did World Cup Broadcasts Lift Revenue 22% and Net Income 57%?
Fox reported revenue of $4,571 million against $3,738 million, and net income attributable to stockholders of $943 million, or $2.20 per diluted share, versus $1.32. Advertising revenue rose 47% to $2,081 million, mainly on the FIFA Men's World Cup broadcast and political advertising, while National Football League game timing partly offset the gain.
Distribution revenue grew 9% to $2,084 million. Television segment EBITDA rose to $934 million from $399 million, and adjusted EBITDA reached $1,641 million. Depreciation and amortization climbed 20% as FCC licenses began amortizing on Jul 1, 2026.
The company ended the quarter with about $4.5 billion of cash. It has an agreed Acquisition of a streaming platform company that awaits antitrust clearance.
2. Roku: Is a Jump to $183.3 Million of Net Income Built on Platform Growth?
Roku reported total net revenue of $1.502 billion, up 24% from $1.211 billion, and net income of $183.3 million, or $1.20 per diluted share, against $24.8 million. Platform revenue rose 23% to $1.308 billion, with advertising at $727.4 million and subscriptions at $580.9 million.
Video ad impressions increased 33%, while the average price per impression declined 7%. Devices revenue rose 33% to $193.7 million, but the devices gross loss widened to $48.6 million. Adjusted EBITDA was $248.8 million versus $116.9 million.
The company reported $2.519 billion of cash and equivalents and suspended its buyback program after signing a Merger agreement. The article is based on a quarterly filing only, with no guidance.
3. Match Group: Why Did Net Income Rise 8% When Revenue Slipped 3%?
Match Group reported revenue of $891 million versus $914 million, with payers down 5% to 13.8 million. Net income rose to $174.4 million, or $0.73 per diluted share, and adjusted EBITDA was $344 million, up 14%. The prior-year quarter included a $61 million legal settlement charge, and excluding it adjusted EBITDA fell 5%.
Hinge direct revenue grew 19% to $221 million, while Tinder direct revenue fell 2% to $480 million. Evolving and emerging brands fell 20% to $176 million.
Fourth-quarter revenue is guided to $865 million to $875 million, and a $0.20 quarterly Dividend was declared. Management flagged a roughly $20 million app store fee headwind for 2027.
4. People Inc: How Large Was the Investment Markdown Behind a $687.5 Million Loss?
People Inc reported revenue of $430.8 million, down 4% from $447.1 million, and a net loss attributable to shareholders of $687.5 million, or $9.15 per share. The company marks its stake of about 26.6% in a casino and resorts operator to market, which produced a $1.12 billion unrealized loss. An income tax benefit of $278.4 million and a $174.9 million pre-tax gain on a fund stake sale partly cushioned it.
The operating loss narrowed to $3.0 million from $27.2 million. Licensing revenue rose 49%, but advertising revenue fell 8%, and Core Sessions dropped 26% to 1.61 billion, which the filing attributes mainly to AI-oriented search and content discovery.
Adjusted EBITDA was $54.8 million, near last year's $55.1 million. The article rests on a quarterly filing only.
5. Ibotta: Why Did a $9.6 Million Tax Provision Create a GAAP Loss on 17% Growth?
Ibotta reported revenue of $97.8 million, up 17%, with revenue and adjusted EBITDA both above the top of its guidance range. Income before taxes was $6.1 million, but a $9.6 million tax provision produced a net loss of $3.5 million, or $0.15 per diluted share. Non-GAAP net income was $16.0 million.
Redeemers grew 30% to 23.6 million, and third-party publisher Redemption revenue rose 43% to $70.7 million. Direct-to-consumer redemption revenue fell 22%.
Fourth-quarter revenue is guided to $94 million to $98 million, and management gave a first preliminary 2027 view of at least mid-single-digit revenue growth.
Media and Internet Revenue Spread: How Far Apart Were the Five Companies?
The five companies reported $7,492.8 million of combined revenue (calculated), an average of $1,498.6 million each (calculated). Fox alone accounted for 61.0% of that total (calculated), and its revenue was about 46.7 times Ibotta's (calculated).
The average growth rate across the five was 11.4% (calculated), using 22%, 24%, negative 2.5%, negative 3.6% and 17%, though the group mixes bases from $97.8 million to $4,571 million. Profit diverged more than revenue: Fox, Roku and Match Group earned $943 million, $183.3 million and $174.4 million, while People Inc lost $687.5 million. The Fox and Roku articles also describe the same per-share merger terms of $96.00 in cash plus 0.9693 of a Class A share.
What to Watch Next: Antitrust Clearance, Match Group's Dividend and People Inc's Fourth Quarter
Both the Fox and Roku articles say a pending transaction needs antitrust clearance, and neither gives a closing date. Match Group's $0.20 dividend is payable Jan 21, 2027 to holders of record on Jan 6, 2027, and it plans to share 2027 revenue and Margin expectations in February.
People Inc expects its corporate consolidation plan to finish in the first quarter of 2027 and notes that about half of annual adjusted EBITDA typically arrives in the fourth quarter. No dated event was identified in the Ibotta materials beyond its fourth-quarter guidance and new publisher launches.
