Acumen Pharmaceuticals (NASDAQ:ABOS): a November Alzheimer's readout and cash into early 2027
Acumen Pharmaceuticals reported third quarter results on October 26, 2026. The net loss was USD 25.4 million, or USD 0.35 per share, against USD 26.5 million, or USD 0.44 per share, a year earlier, and USD 0.04 better than the published consensus loss of USD 0.39. Research and development expense fell to USD 21.1 million on lower manufacturing and contract research costs for ALTITUDE-AD, partly offset by higher spending on its enhanced brain delivery program. The nine-month net loss was USD 78.8 million, or USD 1.14 per share. Chief executive Daniel O'Connell said the company expects to report topline results in November 2026. Published market data showed a market value near USD 164.16 million for Acumen Pharmaceuticals (NASDAQ:ABOS). ALTITUDE-AD enrolled 542 participants across three arms of about 180 each, comparing two intravenous doses of sabirnetug given every four weeks with placebo over 18 months, double-blinded. Sabirnetug is designed to target toxic soluble amyloid beta oligomers, and O'Connell described it as having a differentiated benefit-risk profile. The primary endpoint is the iADRS, an Alzheimer's rating scale, and key secondary endpoints include CDR-SB, safety including the rate of amyloid related imaging abnormalities, and biomarkers. Approved antibodies already compete in this field, so a clean safety record and a meaningful clinical benefit will both matter.
Bone Biologics (NASDAQ:BBLG): a going concern warning and a Q2 2027 runway
Bone Biologics reported results for the quarter ended September 30, 2026, and the earnings board lists the report on October 26, 2026. The net loss was USD 617,651, or USD 0.17 per share, against the published consensus loss of USD 0.19, so the loss was USD 0.02 smaller, simple arithmetic on two published numbers. For the nine months the net loss was USD 2,157,341, or USD 0.88 per share. Cash was USD 6,088,085, with about USD 5.9 million held in a flexible certificate of deposit at Bank of America. The company is a clinical stage medical device developer with no product revenue, so results mainly reflect research spending and financing. Bone Biologics develops NB1, which combines the bone growth protein NELL-1 with demineralized bone matrix for spinal fusion. A multicenter pilot study of up to 30 adults with degenerative disc disease undergoing transforaminal lumbar interbody fusion is under way in Australia. The FDA Division of Orthopedic Devices agreed to the study design in a pre-submission, supporting progress toward a pivotal trial in the United States, and the agency indicated that NELL-1 with demineralized bone matrix will be a device and drug combination product requiring a premarket approval application before commercial sale. A pilot study in Australia can generate safety and performance data for regulators, though it is smaller than a pivotal trial.
Electra Battery Materials (NASDAQ:ELBM): a USD 73 million cobalt refinery build
This is a results preview, not a results report: no second quarter figures were available at the time of writing, and the calendar gave no time for the release. Electra is building a cobalt sulfate refinery at Temiskaming Shores, Ontario, aimed at supplying battery makers, and its shares trade on Nasdaq and the TSX Venture Exchange. The latest quarterly results reviewed, for the first quarter, showed cash of CAD 40.2 million, net proceeds of about USD 4.6 million from share issues at an average of USD 0.91 and an at-the-market program raised to USD 25 million. The company did not report a net loss in the release reviewed. On August 26, 2026 Electra said structural steel erection, concrete work, equipment installation and piping were under way. About CAD 32 million of construction contracts had been awarded by May 2026. The Strategic Response Fund agreement is 25% non-repayable and up to 75% repayable, so most of that funding is a loan-like obligation rather than a grant. A construction budget of USD 73 million is large for a company with a published market value near USD 47.86 million, so more funding is likely, and issuing shares through the at-the-market program dilutes holders of Electra Battery Materials (NASDAQ:ELBM).
California Nanotechnologies (TSXV:CNO): new aerospace orders and a small raise
This is a news piece with a results preview, not a results report: second quarter fiscal 2027 figures were not available at the time of writing, and the calendar lists a consensus loss of USD 0.01 per share and a market value near USD 14.97 million. On October 26, 2026 California Nanotechnologies said it had received purchase orders totaling USD 147,000 from a Texas aerospace company, moving a research and development program into commercial production for satellite components. The company, whose fiscal year ends in February, uses cryomilling and spark plasma sintering to make advanced materials, and its executive Eric Eyerman is due to present at the Planet MicroCap event in Toronto on October 28, 2026. On September 14 the company said it received its largest purchase order to date for boron carbide reactor control components, and on September 16 it signed a development agreement and initial orders with a California Fortune 100 technology company using spark plasma sintering. The first quarter of fiscal 2027 revenue of USD 917,854 was up 28%. The October 21 lease amendment adds production space of about 15,500 square feet, an 80% increase on 19,500 square feet, simple arithmetic. Investors can watch the second quarter report for revenue and adjusted EBITDA, conversion of the nuclear and technology orders into recurring work, and the cost of the larger Santa Ana facility for California Nanotechnologies (TSXV:CNO).
Where Things Stand
The answer is that the runways are short relative to the plans: Acumen into early 2027, Bone Biologics through the second quarter of 2027, and Electra relies on a build budget far above its cash. California Nanotechnologies (TSXV:CNO) is small but gaining orders. New equity would dilute holders in each case, and outcomes are uncertain. Nothing here is a forecast. Next filings from Acumen Pharmaceuticals (NASDAQ:ABOS) will add detail. Fresh disclosure from Bone Biologics (NASDAQ:BBLG) is the next test. Official notices from Electra Battery Materials (NASDAQ:ELBM) remain the best guide. Further company updates from California Nanotechnologies (TSXV:CNO) are awaited. Further disclosure from Bone Biologics (NASDAQ:BBLG) would clarify the picture.
