Firefly Aerospace (Nasdaq:FLY) has announced financial results for the second quarter ended June 30, 2025, marking its first quarterly update since its August 2025 initial public offering.
Second Quarter 2025 Highlights
During the quarter, CEO Jason Kim testified before Congress on the success of Blue Ghost Mission 1 and the importance of NASA’s Commercial Lunar Payload Services program. Firefly confirmed the United Arab Emirates’ Rashid 2 Rover as an international payload on Blue Ghost Mission 2, while structures for the mission entered assembly after completing the Integration Readiness Review.
The U.S. Department of Defense’s Defense Innovation Unit awarded Firefly the Elytra Mission 3 contract for a 2027 national security mission. The company also introduced Ocula, a high-resolution imaging service that will provide more than five years of lunar orbital services through Elytra spacecraft supporting upcoming Blue Ghost missions.
In international developments, Sweden signed a Technology Safeguards Agreement with the United States, enabling Alpha launches from Esrange Space Center in collaboration with the Swedish Space Corporation. Northrop Grumman invested USD 50m in preferred equity to support Firefly’s Eclipse™ launch vehicle program.

Firefly raised USD 933.1m in net proceeds from its IPO and began trading on the Nasdaq on August 7, 2025. NASA awarded Firefly the Blue Ghost Mission 4 contract on July 29, 2025, valued at USD 176.7m, raising Firefly’s total backlog to about USD 1.3b.
The company has conducted 95 hot fire tests of its Miranda engine, which will power the debut launch of Eclipse, expected as early as 2026. On August 26, 2025, the Federal Aviation Administration issued a Return to Flight determination for the Alpha launch vehicle. In September 2025, NASA granted Firefly a USD 10m contract addendum for additional lunar data collection from Blue Ghost Mission 1.
For the full year 2025, Firefly expects revenue between USD 133m and USD 145m.
