Canadian Pacific Kansas City (CPKC) used its role as title sponsor of the 2025 CPKC Women’s Open to deliver what organisers called a record fundraising outcome: AUD-equivalent USD 4.5 million raised for cardiac healthcare in Ontario, split between MacKids (McMaster Children’s Hospital) and Trillium Health Partners.

The bulk of the proceeds — USD 4.0 million — goes to MacKids to support the creation of an Integrated Cardiac Health Initiative that aims to centralise diagnosis, treatment and follow-up care for paediatric cardiac patients. A further USD 502,000 has been earmarked for life-saving equipment and related cardiac care enhancements at Trillium Health Partners. These allocations were announced alongside tournament results and charity briefings.

On the course, CPKC ambassador and Canadian star Brooke Henderson secured the championship, marking her second CPKC Women’s Open title and adding to her LPGA win tally. Tournament coverage and the LPGA confirmed Henderson’s victory on August 24, 2025.

CPKC’s community initiative, branded CPKC Has Heart, has been the platform for the tournament’s charitable activity. Organisers point to more than USD 27 million raised for children’s heart health since the sponsorship began in 2014 — a figure that underscores the multi-year fundraising focus linking the company’s sponsorship to regional health partners.

From a corporate-communications and stakeholder perspective, the event combined high-profile sport with targeted community giving: the tournament mobilised volunteers, corporate partners and local donors, and the resulting gifts are designated for clinically specific projects rather than discretionary spending.
