Figure Technology Solutions (NASDAQ:FIGR) fell sharply on Friday, October 30, 2026, as the selloff in crypto-linked stocks spread beyond exchanges and miners to fintech names built on blockchain technology. According to market data, the stock was among the notable decliners in a broad crypto-stock retreat. No company-specific news was found for Figure; the shares moved with the sector.
Figure uses Blockchain Technology in consumer lending and other financial products, which ties its stock to sentiment in the digital-asset market. On Friday, that sentiment soured quickly.
The reported Binance hack
Binance disclosed a breach on Thursday evening and on Friday confirmed that about $6.3 billion had been stolen. If confirmed, that would be the largest crypto theft on record. TRM Labs and Elliptic linked the attack to North Korea, according to market data, and Binance blamed a compromised DevOps engineer's laptop, market reports said.
Binance pledged to cover customer losses. "We are committed to covering all hacked losses through our company funds," co-CEO Richard Teng said. About $3 billion of the stolen funds was reportedly frozen, and withdrawals were expected to resume by Sunday.
The market reaction was swift. Bitcoin dropped to around $76,700 to $77,600, a six-week low, after trading near $86,000 earlier in October. Ether slipped to about $2,237. A digital-assets research head said: "I suspect the negative price action still has some way to go,"
Peers fell together
Figure had plenty of company. Coinbase (NASDAQ:COIN) tumbled after its quarterly Revenue missed estimates, Strategy and Robinhood (NASDAQ:HOOD) sank, and Circle Internet Group (NYSE:CRCL) fell even though it helped Binance freeze stolen funds, according to market data. Galaxy Digital, Riot Platforms (NASDAQ:RIOT), Hut 8 (NASDAQ:HUT), MARA Holdings, CleanSpark and Cipher also declined, none with company-specific news, according to market reports.
The pattern suggested investors were reducing exposure to the whole theme rather than reacting to individual results. For companies such as Figure, the reported hack still weighed on the shares through broad risk aversion toward anything tied to crypto.
A market-wide selloff
The broader backdrop could hardly have been worse for speculative growth stocks. The Nasdaq Composite fell 747.73 points to 25,437.00, its worst day since June, after Intel (NASDAQ:INTC)'s weak outlook and cash-burn warning set off a global chip rout and Amazon (NASDAQ:AMZN)'s results deepened worries over AI spending. The S&P 500 lost 140.32 points to 7,580.07, the Dow Jones Industrial Average fell 572.25 points to 51,770.31 and the Russell 2000 dropped 47.37 points to 2,811.84.
Rates added pressure. The Federal Reserve left its benchmark rate range unchanged at its Oct. 27-28 meeting, but two policymakers dissented in favor of a hike. Chair Kevin Warsh said: "I also don't believe in prejudging meetings. A lot of things can happen." CME FedWatch data on Friday showed traders treating a December hike as likely, and the Cboe (CBOE:CBOE) Volatility index rose to 19.42.
Defensive corners of the market held up better. Energy, consumer staples, utilities and health care rose as investors rotated away from technology, while oil climbed above $100 a barrel.
What to watch
Figure's shares have been tracking crypto sentiment. Investors will look for Binance to restore withdrawals by Sunday as promised, for updates on how much of the stolen funds is frozen or recovered, and for any sign that bitcoin can hold above its six-week low.
The calendar is busy: the midterm elections on Tuesday, Nov. 3, the ISM purchasing managers' surveys and the October jobs report on Friday, Nov. 6, will all feed into expectations for a December Fed decision.
