Gallagher Insurance (NYSE:AJG), a global leader in insurance brokerage, risk management, and consulting services, has entered a multi-year partnership with New Zealand Rugby (NZR), becoming the Official Insurance Broker of the national rugby organization. The announcement was made during a special launch event at the All Blacks Experience in Auckland, signaling a strategic alignment of two globally recognized brands focused on integrity, excellence, and community impact.
Under the agreement, Gallagher’s branding will appear prominently on the training and matchday shorts of all NZR national teams, including the All Blacks, Black Ferns, Māori All Blacks, and Sevens teams. The partnership further includes jersey sponsorship for referees across all domestic competitions starting in 2026, including DHL Super Rugby Pacific, Sky Super Rugby Aupiki, and Bunnings Warehouse Provincial Rugby. This reflects Gallagher’s commitment to supporting rugby at every level in New Zealand.
Christopher Mead, Chief Marketing Officer of Gallagher Insurance, has been operating in New Zealand since 2014 and has roots in the local market dating back nearly 50 years through merger partners.
Adding to its rugby engagement, Gallagher has signed All Blacks star and two-time World Rugby Player of the Year Beauden Barrett as a global ambassador. Barrett will help promote Gallagher’s community initiatives worldwide, joining Black Ferns legend Kendra Cocksedge, who continues her ambassadorial role.
