Credit Quality Still Looks Clean Heading Into Earnings
F.N.B. Corporation's second quarter showed broad-based improvement, with net interest margin widening, the efficiency ratio improving and common equity tier 1 capital rising to 11.4 per cent, while credit metrics including net charge-offs of just 0.19 per cent of average loans stayed low. With the loan-to-deposit ratio climbing to 92.5 per cent and third-quarter results due 19 October, the key question is whether that credit strength, and the margin gains behind it, carried into the next quarter.
