Key Highlights
- Coinbase shares fell 10.62% on October 30, 2026.
- Binance reported a record hack estimated at about $6.3 billion.
- Third-quarter Revenue fell to about $1.22 billion from $1.87 billion.

Coinbase Global (NASDAQ:COIN) fell 10.62% on Friday. The exchange operator was caught between two pressures at once: a sector-wide crypto sell-off after Binance disclosed a hack estimated at about $6.3 billion, the largest on record, and its own third-quarter results, released after the close on Thursday, October 29, which showed trading revenue shrinking sharply from a year earlier.
A Soft Quarter
Total revenue was about $1.22 billion, down roughly a third from $1.87 billion a year earlier. Transaction revenue fell to about $590 million, while subscription and services revenue was about $570 million, nearly half of net revenue. Headline net income rose to $719 million, or $2.51 per diluted share, but about $715 million of that came from unrealized gains on the company's crypto holdings. Adjusted net income was $78 million and adjusted EBITDA was $333 million, compared with $801 million a year earlier. Operating Income dropped to roughly $62 million from $481 million.
Brighter Spots
Annualized revenue from prediction markets passed $200 million. Coinbase guided fourth-quarter subscription and services revenue to $550 million to $630 million, said trading revenue was about $165 million as of October 25 and trimmed the midpoint of its 2026 adjusted expense outlook by $100 million to a range of $4.15 billion to $4.30 billion.
The Bigger Shock Came From Outside
Binance's loss rattled the crypto market and Bitcoin fell to roughly $76,800. A hack at a rival can cut both ways for Coinbase over time, since some users may seek regulated venues, but in the short term it dampens trading appetite and risk sentiment. The S&P 500 fell 140.32 points, or 1.8%, to 7,580.07 and the Nasdaq Composite dropped 747.73 points, or 2.9%, to 25,437.00, as Intel (NASDAQ:INTC)'s weak outlook triggered a chip rout and Amazon (NASDAQ:AMZN)'s results revived worries about AI spending.
What Investors Will Watch
Investors will watch how quickly crypto prices stabilize, whether trading volumes hold up into the fourth quarter and how subscription, Stablecoin and prediction-market businesses offset volatile trading fees. Policy headlines on digital-asset regulation could add Volatility around the November 3 midterm elections.
