Why T1 Energy Stock Slid

T1 Energy Inc. (NYSE:TE), formerly FREYR Battery, makes solar modules at its G1_Dallas plant and is building the G2_Austin cell factory. We found no company-specific release for September, so the decline looks sector-driven. On September 25, reports said the 30-year Treasury Yield reached 5.48 percent, the highest since 2004, and First Solar (NASDAQ:FSLR) lost 10.3 percent on September 24. Financing risk compounds this. T1 Energy Inc. (NYSE:TE) reported Q2 sales of USD 250.1 million, a USD 36.9 million continuing-operations loss, USD 79.1 million unrestricted cash and USD 510 million of planned G2_Austin Phase 1 spending. It fell 4.46 percent on September 24 and closed at USD 3.57 on September 28, valuing it near USD 1.05 billion.

How TEUP Is Built

T-REX 2X Long TE Daily Target ETF (CBOE:TEUP) is issued by REX Shares with Tuttle Capital Management. It lists on Cboe BZX and began trading May 29, 2026. Its total expense ratio is 1.5 percent. Assets were USD 2,194,569.90 as of September 25. The fund seeks 200 percent of the daily performance of T1 Energy Inc. (NYSE:TE) using swap agreements and cash equivalents, and rebalances each day to hold that ratio. Its prospectus warns that over periods longer than a day the fund will lose money if TE is flat. It also warns that a single-day TE drop above 50 percent could wipe out the entire investment. We found no reverse split.

How a Fund Falls Faster

Daily resets lock in losses. If a stock falls 10 percent and then rises 10 percent, it ends down 1 percent, but a 2x fund falls 20 percent and rises 20 percent, ending down 4 percent. In choppy markets that drag repeats. T1 Energy Inc. (NYSE:TE) fell about 64 percent from the June high (our arithmetic), yet T-REX 2X Long TE Daily Target ETF (CBOE:TEUP) lost 88.32 percent over three months. Simple doubling would exceed 100 percent, which a fund cannot lose, so daily Rebalancing cushioned that comparison. The lesson is that long-horizon results can diverge sharply from twice the stock's return, in either direction.
