  • Certification ensures compliance with Slovak grid requirements and enhances market readiness
  • Over 4 MW of Tigo MLPE solutions deployed in Slovak residential solar market
  • Backup power capability proven during June 2025 blackout in Czech Republic

Tigo Energy (NASDAQ: TYGO) announced that its three-phase Tigo EI Residential solution has achieved compliance certification in Slovakia through its partnership with Východoslovenská distribučná (VSD). This certification confirms that the system meets the country’s grid interconnection and safety requirements, a necessary step for deployment in Slovak households.

The certified system includes Tigo EI Residential Three-Phase Inverters (TSI-6K3D, TSI-10K3D, TSI-15K3D) with grid disconnection capabilities and the Tigo EI Battery for energy management. These solutions are designed to enable homeowners to maximize solar energy use while maintaining system safety and performance standards.

The Slovak residential solar market accounted for 43% of the country’s solar growth in 2024, with around 120 MW of rooftop installations added. Tigo Energy has established a foothold in this segment, with its module-level power electronics (MLPE) solutions already implemented in more than 4 MW of residential systems across the country.

Management emphasized the strategic significance of this development, stating, “This certification represents a key milestone that allows us to support installers and homeowners in Slovakia with a fully compliant, reliable solution for solar and energy storage.”

Beyond grid compliance, the Tigo EI Residential solution includes backup power capabilities, which were tested during the June 2025 blackout in the Czech Republic. The system successfully provided power continuity, reinforcing its role in energy resiliency. Integration with the TS4 Flex MLPE platform, the Tigo GO EV Charger, and the GO Junction enables homeowners to combine solar production, storage, electric vehicle charging, and smart heating into a comprehensive energy management ecosystem.

Industry observers note that the certification enhances Tigo’s ability to compete in a growing European residential solar market, which is being driven by rising energy independence goals and supportive regulatory frameworks. By offering a full-stack energy solution, including storage and EV integration, Tigo could capture additional demand from households seeking end-to-end energy autonomy.
