Sunrise New Energy Co., Ltd. (NASDAQ:EPOW) announced plans to establish a 1GW lithium battery pack project in the United States through its newly formed U.S. subsidiary, Alchemistica Incorporated. The initiative targets the expanding demand for energy storage batteries across North America, including residential and commercial & industrial (C&I) sectors.
Leadership and Industry Expertise
The project will leverage the expertise of Mr. Haiping Hu, Founder and CEO of Sunrise, who has led international teams in battery pack production, R&D, technology development, and market expansion. Mr. Hu brings extensive knowledge and a global perspective to support the execution of the U.S. battery pack initiative.
Integration with Anode Material Business
By establishing localized battery pack production in the U.S., Sunrise aims to create synergies between downstream battery applications and its upstream graphite anode material business. This integrated approach is expected to drive continued sales of Sunrise’s anode materials while laying the foundation for broader energy industry development in North America.
Company Background
Headquartered in Zibo, Shandong Province, China, Sunrise New Energy Co., Ltd. produces and sells graphite anode material for lithium-ion batteries. Through its joint venture, the Company has completed a manufacturing facility in Guizhou Province, China, with a production capacity of 50,000 tons. The plant operates using low-cost renewable electricity, supporting low-cost and low–environmental-impact production.
