ClearPoint Neuro, Inc. (NASDAQ:CLPT) reported third-quarter 2026 revenue of USD 12.1 million, up 36% from USD 8.9 million a year earlier and below a consensus estimate of USD 12.30 million. The net loss was USD 7.5 million, or USD 0.24 per share, compared with USD 5.9 million, or USD 0.21, in the prior-year quarter, and narrower than a consensus estimate of a USD 0.32 loss per share.

Gross profit increased to USD 7.1 million from USD 5.6 million, a margin of about 58%, down from 63% a year earlier. The company said the decline reflected overhead at the new ClearPoint Advanced Laboratories facility and added amortization of intangible assets from the IRRAS acquisition. Operating expenses were USD 13.4 million, which the company's chief financial officer described as a meaningful drop from nearly USD 17 million in the second quarter.

Revenue Mix and Cost Lines

Biologics and drug delivery revenue grew 11% to USD 4.9 million, with services and license fees rising 19% to USD 3.7 million on higher activity at the laboratory facility, while disposable products slipped 8%. Neurosurgery navigation and therapy revenue climbed 59% to USD 5.4 million, helped by IRRAflow, which the company acquired with IRRAS in the fourth quarter of 2025, and by legacy products. Capital equipment and software revenue rose 68% to USD 1.7 million, which the CEO described as a record quarter for capital sales.

Research and development expense was USD 4.0 million, up 16%. Sales and marketing expense was USD 5.5 million, up 44% year over year but more than 15% lower than in the second quarter after a commercial reorganization. General and administrative expense was USD 3.8 million, up 7%. CEO Joseph Burnett said revenue growth of 36% outpaced operating expense growth of 23%.

Liquidity and Partner Milestones

The company used its at-the-market equity program for the first time, selling 1,530,000 shares for net proceeds of USD 22.0 million, with USD 27.5 million of the USD 50.0 million program still available. Operating activities used USD 20.1 million over nine months, up from USD 11.8 million. Under a 2025 note purchase agreement, the company had received net proceeds of about USD 48.1 million from two notes of a facility of up to USD 105.0 million. Management said cash is sufficient to fund operations for at least twelve months from the filing date.

The CEO said more than 60 biopharma partners are using the company's products in trials. He pointed to partner uniQure's BLA submission for AMT-130 in Huntington's disease: the FDA's acceptance decision was anticipated within about a month, after which ClearPoint would file a companion 510(k). He cited a typical review of 6 to 8 months after acceptance, and said several Phase III partner trials are scheduled to begin enrolling or starting through 2027.

Checkpoints Ahead

Four items warrant tracking. The first is the FDA's formal decision on whether to accept the AMT-130 submission, followed by the companion 510(k) filing. The second is cash discipline: USD 46.2 million of cash against USD 20.1 million of nine-month operating cash use and USD 27.5 million of unused ATM capacity. The third is gross margin, which dropped to about 58% from 63% while laboratory build-out costs continue. The fourth is the 2027 product calendar, with five IRRAflow milestones targeted, including the Shoreline software, Dart catheter and results from the ARCH trial.
