Third-quarter sales growth runs across all three segments

AptarGroup (NYSE:ATR), which makes drug delivery, dosing and protection systems alongside dispensing products for consumer brands, reported third quarter 2026 results on October 29, 2026. Reported sales increased 6% to $1.02 billion from $961 million in the prior year quarter, while core sales rose 5%.

Closures led with reported growth of 11%, helped by strong Demand for bottled water and concentrates, a recent beverage dispensing closure and condiment sales. Beauty reported 9% growth on demand for prestige fragrance, color cosmetics and hair care, and pass throughs of higher input costs added to the gain.

Pharma reported 2% growth, with core growth of 1%. After adjusting for emergency medicine destocking, the company said Pharma core sales grew 8%, supported by central nervous system and pulmonary therapies, nasal decongestants, eye care and dermal delivery.

Russian deconsolidation drives a wide gap between reported and adjusted EPS

During the quarter, AptarGroup deconsolidated its Russian subsidiary after a government decree placed it under external administration and the company lost control. It recorded a $58.0 million loss on deconsolidation, which included about $30.0 million of cash held by the subsidiary. The combined pre-tax impact was $61.2 million.

Reported Net Income was $33 million, or $0.51 per share, compared with $1.92 per share a year earlier. The reported effective tax rate was 45.6%, reflecting the non-deductible tax effect of the deconsolidation.

Adjusted EPS was $1.52, which the company placed at the higher end of its guidance range. That compares with $1.62 in the prior year period at comparable exchange rates.

Adjusted EBITDA Margin slips to 21.3% as mix and input costs weigh

Adjusted EBITDA margin was 21.3%, down from 23.2% in the third quarter of 2025. Beauty's adjusted EBITDA margin was 11.4%, a decline of 70 basis points, which the company linked to unfavorable mix and continuing challenges.

Pharma margins were described as staying at the high end of the long-term target range. Management said pass throughs of higher input costs contributed to Closures core sales growth, which is a reminder that part of the sales gain reflects pricing rather than volume.

For the nine months ended September 30, 2026, reported sales rose 8% to $3.03 billion from $2.81 billion, while core sales grew 2%. Reported EPS for the period was $3.00, down 37% from $4.75, and adjusted EPS was $4.13, down 10% from $4.60.

Capital returns and a fourth-quarter guide of $1.39 to $1.47 frame what comes next

AptarGroup returned $61 million to shareholders in the third quarter and $272 million year to date through share repurchases and dividends. In the quarter it repurchased about 234 thousand shares for $30 million.

The board approved a quarterly Cash Dividend of $0.50 per share, up from $0.48, payable on December 3, 2026. The company guided fourth quarter adjusted EPS to a range of $1.39 to $1.47, assuming an effective tax rate of 17.5% to 19.5% and a 1.12 euro to dollar exchange rate.

Management said it expects to finish the year strongly on continued Pharma growth in consumer healthcare and injectables, without the emergency medicine destocking headwind. A conference call was scheduled for October 30, 2026, at 8:00 a.m. Central Time to discuss the results.
