What Aehr Reported

Aehr reported fiscal first-quarter 2027 results on November 2, 2026, for the quarter ended September 25. Revenue was USD 33.0 million, up 200% from USD 11.0 million and up 75% from USD 18.8 million in the prior quarter. GAAP net income was USD 7.2 million against a loss of USD 2.1 million a year earlier. Bookings were USD 46.7 million. Cash, cash equivalents and restricted cash were USD 105.1 million. Shares rose about 14% after hours on November 2 and closed up 26.5% on November 3, according to published market data. Management said it sees production potential across more than a dozen customers, a claim that remains to be demonstrated in orders. Aehr Test Systems (NASDAQ:AEHR) has therefore moved from a small base to a company guiding to USD 150 million of annual revenue.

Why Burn-In Testing Matters for AI

Burn-in testing stresses chips with heat and voltage to expose early failures before they reach customers, which matters for expensive AI processors. Aehr said a lead AI processor customer placed a USD 22 million follow-on order in August 2026, and that a major AI accelerator supplier decided to buy a wafer-level burn-in test cell for installation at an outsourced assembly and test partner in Taiwan, planned for early calendar 2027. A hyperscale customer is also installing package-level burn-in systems at more than a dozen a month. Guidance of USD 150 million implies about USD 117 million over the remaining three quarters, or about USD 39 million a quarter (simple arithmetic).

Risks and What to Watch Next

Aehr is a small company, and a small number of trades can move the price, spreads can be wide and quoted moves can reverse. A move of 26.5% in one session does not imply the rise will continue. Revenue depends on a few large customers, so one delayed order could change results sharply. Cash fell to USD 105.1 million from USD 116.5 million at May 29, 2026. Investors will watch conversion of the USD 109.3 million effective backlog into revenue, new orders beyond the lead customers and progress on the Taiwan installation planned for early 2027. Non-GAAP net income of at least 20% of revenue implies at least USD 30 million for the year (simple arithmetic).

Where Things Stand

Aehr rocketed 26.5% because revenue tripled, profit swung from a loss, bookings exceeded revenue and management raised full-year revenue guidance to USD 150 million. The Business is tied to a few AI customers, and as a small company its shares can move sharply on thin Volume and reverse just as fast. For Aehr Test Systems (NASDAQ:AEHR), the conversion of backlog to revenue is the key test. The rally should not be read as a trend. Nothing here is Investment advice.
