Qualcomm (NASDAQ:QCOM): A Preview With a Big Handset Question

This is a preview written before results. Qualcomm (NASDAQ:QCOM) guided revenue of USD 9.7 billion to USD 10.5 billion and adjusted Earnings of USD 2.05 to USD 2.25 for the quarter. A preview published before the report puts consensus near USD 10.1 billion and adjusted earnings of USD 2.16, which would be down about 10% and 28% from a year earlier, per published estimates. One calendar lists EPS of USD 1.46, which looks inconsistent with guidance and is not used. In the third quarter, revenue was USD 9.95 billion and adjusted earnings were USD 2.21. Apple-related revenue is expected to fall about 50% from the third quarter, and Bernstein estimates it could drop about USD 6 billion in fiscal 2027. Automotive revenue was about USD 1.6 billion, up 61%, and IoT about USD 1.8 billion, up 9%, in the third quarter, together about 40% of chip revenue. A report after the close means the first reaction comes in extended trading, where Volume is thinner. Analysts rated the stock 3 Buy, 6 Hold and 2 Sell in the preview, with an average target near USD 197.

McDonald's (NYSE:MCD): What an Implied Move Does and Does Not Say

This is also a preview written before results. An implied move comes from options prices: the cost of a straddle around the report shows how large a move traders collectively expect, not which direction. For McDonald's (NYSE:MCD) that is about 3%, per published options data. Past reactions were mixed against that yardstick: a 3.9% gain on February 11, 2026 against 2.9% implied, a 2.2% decline on May 7 against 3.1%, and a 0.2% slip on November 5, 2025 against 3.0%. Earlier moves included a 6.8% gain on February 10, 2025 and a 6.3% decline on October 29, 2024. Published coverage says the stock moved more than implied in three of the past eight reports. Consensus EPS of about USD 3.36 to USD 3.38 differs slightly between sources, and no revenue consensus was found. For a restaurant chain, the closely watched items are comparable sales, customer traffic, margins and cost guidance, though this article does not assume what they will be. An options-implied move is not a forecast, and shares can move beyond it. The S&P 500 closed at about 7,569 on November 3, up 0.36%, while the Nasdaq-100 sat in correction.

EVgo (NASDAQ:EVGO): Results Behind a Buyout Proposal

EVgo (NASDAQ:EVGO) is scheduled to report third-quarter results on November 9, according to published coverage, with analysts expecting revenue near USD 94.62 million and a loss of USD 0.12 per share. The date is single-source. The report comes after the stock jumped about 47% on November 2 when LS Power proposed USD 2.00 in cash for each Class A share it does not own, about 59% above the prior close, simple arithmetic. LS Power affiliates hold 178,682,352 shares, equal to 56.81% of combined voting power, per a Schedule 13D/A filed November 2. The filing says the proposal may be modified or withdrawn, and EVgo formed a special committee of independent directors, so no deal is agreed. A cash offer means no dilution from new shares, but the premium is only as good as the chance the deal completes. The company operates more than 1,200 fast-charging sites across 47 states per published coverage. Risks include a withdrawn or lowered proposal, a long review and Shareholder litigation, and moves of this size on a small-cap stock can reverse quickly.

CoreWeave (NASDAQ:CRWV): The Call on November 10

CoreWeave (NASDAQ:CRWV) reports third-quarter results on November 10, 2026, with a call at 5:00 p.m. ET. It guided third-quarter revenue to USD 3.45 billion to USD 3.6 billion, Capital spending to USD 11.5 billion to USD 13.5 billion and interest expense to USD 860 million to USD 940 million, with 2026 revenue guided to USD 12.4 billion to USD 13.2 billion. Second-quarter revenue was USD 2.6 billion, up 112%, and the revenue backlog was USD 104 billion at the end of the second quarter, up 246%, excluding more than USD 25 billion of commitments added early in the third quarter. The shares rose about 7.2% on November 3 and fell between about 3.6% and 7% premarket on November 4 as Texas election projections raised Data Center policy fears. Investors will watch capital spending, backlog and any comment on Texas, plus moves in Treasury yields, since heavy borrowing makes the company sensitive to interest rates. One bank estimate says Texas holds about 27% of planned United States data center power capacity, a figure not confirmed by a primary source, and no restriction on data centers has taken effect.

Where Things Stand

An options-implied swing of 9.6% at Qualcomm says traders expect a large move in either direction, not which one, and the figure comes from a single published account. The more informative items are the Apple-related revenue decline of about 50% and the automotive growth of 61%. McDonald's (NYSE:MCD) has a smaller implied move of about 3% and a history of sometimes moving more than that. EVgo (NASDAQ:EVGO) reports next week, with its numbers overshadowed by the buyout proposal. CoreWeave follows a day later. These are previews, and no result is assumed. Guidance often moves shares more than the quarter itself, and McDonald's, Qualcomm and EVgo each carry different risks: a weak consumer, handset softness and a deal that may not be agreed. Investors should read the actual releases, calls and guidance before drawing conclusions.
