Segment Performance and Regional Trends
Reservoir Description revenue of USD 84.3 million rose 7% from the second quarter and fell 4% from a year earlier, with operating income of USD 8.1 million excluding items. About 80% of the segment's revenue comes from projects outside the United States. Growth came from Europe-Africa, Asia-Pacific, Latin America and the Middle East, where assay demand improved late in the quarter but stayed below levels seen before the regional conflict. CEO Larry Bruno also pointed to long-cycle offshore exploration and appraisal work and to rising activity across Asia-Pacific.
Production Enhancement revenue of USD 47.8 million rose 4% sequentially and 3% year over year, and operating income excluding items was USD 4.4 million. Product sales climbed 14% sequentially on stronger U.S. land completion demand and adoption of proprietary completion technologies, while delays to several large diagnostic projects in the Gulf of America weighed on service revenue and margins. Customer wins included an expanded Middle East unconventional reservoir program and a perforating technology rollout across a North American client.
Cash Flow, Leverage and Fourth-Quarter Guidance
Cash from operations was USD 5.0 million and capital expenditures were USD 3.3 million, producing free cash flow of USD 1.7 million. Working capital rose because of costlier raw materials for perforating systems and higher receivables as activity increased late in the quarter. Net debt was USD 93.4 million, a USD 0.2 million reduction, and the leverage ratio was under 1.50. The company repurchased 87,873 shares for about USD 1.1 million and approved a dividend of USD 0.01 per share payable on November 30, 2026.
For the fourth quarter, the company projects revenue of USD 128.5 million to USD 134.5 million, operating income of USD 10.7 million to USD 15.1 million, and EPS of USD 0.12 to USD 0.20, assuming a 25% tax rate. Management anticipates relatively flat sequential revenue because attacks early in the quarter affected Middle East client operations and delayed some projects.
