AMD (NASDAQ:AMD): The Forecast Mattered More Than the Beat
AMD (NASDAQ:AMD) reported third-quarter results after the close on November 3, 2026. Revenue of USD 13.377 billion grew 45%, and adjusted Earnings of USD 2.09 a share topped the USD 1.95 consensus. Data center revenue rose 97% to about USD 8.546 billion and made up the majority of sales, which shows AI infrastructure Demand driving the business. Guidance for the fourth quarter is about USD 17 billion, plus or minus 3%, against roughly USD 16.23 billion expected, with adjusted gross margin near 55%. The shares closed at 483.90 on November 3, then rose about 5% after hours to 508.20, with other accounts citing up to 7%. The risk is concentration: AI chip demand depends on a few large customers and on their spending plans. One account says CEO Lisa Su reportedly flagged more than 80% revenue growth for 2027, but that is a single published account and a management view, not a guarantee. After-hours gains can shrink by the next regular session, so confirmation in regular trading on November 4 matters. Memory costs, Supply constraints and competition from larger rivals can also affect margins and growth.
Arista Networks (NYSE:ANET): A Large Beat Against Its Own Guidance
Arista Networks (NYSE:ANET) announced third-quarter results on November 3, 2026. Revenue of about USD 3.66 billion rose 58.5% from a year earlier and 20.5% from the prior quarter, against the company's own guidance of about USD 3.3 billion and a published consensus of USD 3.33 billion. Non-GAAP earnings of USD 1.20 a share compare with USD 0.77 a year earlier, and non-GAAP Operating Margin reached 49.1%. Gross margin slipped, with GAAP at 63.6% against 64.6% a year earlier, a pattern that can come from large cloud and AI buyers negotiating discounts. Fourth-quarter revenue is guided to USD 3.9 billion to USD 4.0 billion. Shares rose more than 6% after hours in one published account. Arista Networks (NYSE:ANET) sells to a small number of large data center customers, so a cut to AI Capital budgets could slow orders quickly. A single fast quarter does not establish a trend, and the company also faces the risk that large customers build more of their own networking. Investors should watch gross margin, order backlogs and the pace of new customer wins, since backlogs and deferred revenue show how much of the growth is repeatable.
Super Micro Computer (NASDAQ:SMCI): Huge Sales, Thin Margin, Cash Burn
Super Micro Computer (NASDAQ:SMCI) reported on November 3, 2026, after the close. Revenue of USD 19.9 billion compares with USD 5.0 billion a year earlier and USD 11.1 billion in the prior quarter. The figures are preliminary and unaudited, and the company says its financial close is not complete. Gross margin was 12.7% in the release text, against 17.5% in the prior quarter, though a data page showed a different figure. Operating cash flow was negative at about USD 434 million because receivables and inventory absorbed about USD 6 billion, with customer deposits offsetting roughly half. Second-quarter revenue is guided to USD 19.5 billion to USD 21.5 billion against USD 17.4 billion expected, and the full-year outlook was raised to USD 72 billion to USD 82 billion. Super Micro Computer (NASDAQ:SMCI) closed at USD 31.39 on November 3 and rose about 6% to 7% after hours. Customer concentration, pricing pressure and a history of volatile results are the risks. Analyst opinions also differ, and one positive view is not a consensus.
Fabrinet (NYSE:FN): Optical Demand Powers a 15.5% Jump
Fabrinet (NYSE:FN) reported fiscal first-quarter 2027 results on November 2, 2026. Revenue was USD 1,474.5 million, up about 51% from USD 978.1 million, and non-GAAP earnings were USD 4.34 a share against USD 2.92. The shares closed up 15.5% on November 3. Fabrinet is a contract manufacturer that builds optical and electro-mechanical products for other companies, and optical parts matter for AI because data centers need fast links between processors. Guidance for the quarter ending December 25, 2026 is USD 1.6 billion to USD 1.65 billion of revenue, with non-GAAP earnings of USD 4.77 to USD 4.92 a share. Cash and short-term investments together are about USD 755.7 million. The release lists reliance on a small number of customers as a risk, and published coverage says the shares fell about 7% after hours following the August report despite a beat. Fabrinet (NYSE:FN) earns a fee for assembly, so thin margins make factory utilization important, and revenue can swing with a few large programs. Investors will watch the December quarter against the USD 1.6 billion floor, margins and customer concentration.
Where Things Stand
A 97% data center jump can last only if customers keep spending, and the evidence from these four reports is encouraging but not conclusive. AMD and Arista both guided above published estimates, Fabrinet guided to a higher revenue floor, and Super Micro raised its full-year range. The balance of evidence is that AI hardware demand was strong through September. The caveats are margins, cash flow and concentration: Super Micro's 12.7% gross margin and Negative cash flow show growth is expensive. The sector also lost about USD 5 trillion in value between October 6 and November 2, per one published tally, so sentiment is fragile. The next catalysts are the fourth-quarter reports and any change in cloud capital budgets. Hedge Funds are reported to be underweight AI for the first time since early 2023, which could add selling pressure on any disappointment, and none of these results is a forecast of returns.
