Key Highlights

  • Innodata (NASDAQ:INOD) reported record second quarter Revenue of USD 92.1 million on August 6, 2026, up 58%, with Net Income of USD 14.4 million. Full-year growth of 40% or more was reiterated, yet shares sit about 50% below their 52-week high.
  • AvePoint (NASDAQ:AVPT) reported second quarter revenue of USD 124.5 million on August 6, 2026, up 22%, with annual Recurring Revenue of USD 465.1 million. Cash was USD 417.3 million, and it spent USD 110.3 million on Buybacks in the first half of 2026.
  • Duos Technologies (NASDAQ:DUOT) closed at USD 8.33, with a market cap near USD 262 million. Second quarter net income of USD 47.84 million came mostly from a USD 53.17 million gain on the New APR sale, while Operating Income was only USD 0.05 million.
  • The three screen with Debt to Equity of 0.06 or less and gross margins from 42.31% to 73.33%. Innodata's 17.08% operating Margin is the cleanest, while AvePoint's net margin includes a USD 19.9 million tax benefit and Duos' includes a sale gain.

Innodata (NASDAQ:INOD): AI Data Engineering

Innodata (NASDAQ:INOD) supplies AI Training data and engineering to large technology customers. The screener shows trailing revenue growth of 39.02%, gross margin of 42.31%, Operating Margin of 17.08%, net margin of 14.66%, Return on Equity of 37.74% and debt-to-equity of 0.02. The latest quarter is faster and more profitable, with revenue up 58%, GAAP gross margin of 46% and adjusted gross margin of 49%. Net income of USD 14.4 million compares with USD 7.2 million a year earlier. Cash of USD 250.4 million, or about USD 134 million after customer prepayments for pass-through costs, backs the near absence of debt. Trailing numbers lag the latest quarter, so they look lower than the newest results. The screener figures were not re-derived here from the filings. Innodata (NASDAQ:INOD) supplies training data, evaluation and engineering services to large technology companies building AI models. Management points to research-driven work such as agentic reinforcement learning, resold off-the-shelf datasets where it keeps the rights, and pre-training programs. It also added a frontier lab customer and in late September 2026 opened a motion-capture AI lab for humanoid robotics. A published analyst summary says a research firm argued around September 23, 2026 that a Meta AI model could be a major win for the company, which is a third-party view and not company-confirmed. The shares were down 1.33% on October 8, 2026, and no company news was found for that day. The largest customer fell to 37% of revenue from 56% in the first quarter, while a Big Tech customer grew from 17% to 34%.

AvePoint (NASDAQ:AVPT): SaaS With Buybacks

AvePoint (NASDAQ:AVPT) sells data security and governance software on a subscription basis. The screener shows trailing revenue growth of 24.95%, gross margin of 73.33%, operating margin of 9.78%, net margin of 15.33%, return on equity of 16.25% and debt-to-equity of 0.06. The latest quarter shows GAAP operating income of USD 10.2 million, an 8.2% margin, and non-GAAP operating income of USD 20.3 million, a 16.3% margin. The net margin is higher than the operating margin because of the one-time USD 19.9 million tax benefit, which will not repeat. That makes operating margin the better guide to earning power, and it is lower than the screener's headline quality suggests. The small debt ratio probably reflects Lease obligations, since the release reports no borrowings. AvePoint (NASDAQ:AVPT) sells software that governs, protects and migrates data across Microsoft 365 and other platforms, and pitches itself as preparing enterprise data for AI tools. The August 6, 2026 release lifted guidance to total revenue of USD 508.5 million to USD 512.5 million, ARR of USD 522.1 million to USD 528.1 million and non-GAAP operating income of USD 86.4 million to USD 88.4 million. Coverage then widened. A published analyst summary shows Stephens raising its target to USD 17 around September 22, Phillip Securities rating it Accumulate around October 6 and BMO Capital starting at Outperform with a USD 17 target around October 7. The valuation allowance release and large buybacks flatter per-share results, and the buyback spent more cash than the quarter earned from operations. Constant currency growth was 21% against the reported 22%, so currency helped slightly.

Duos Technologies (NASDAQ:DUOT): Profit From a Sale

Duos Technologies (NASDAQ:DUOT) builds AI-based inspection systems and sold its New APR assets. The screener shows operating margin of negative 32.16% and net margin of positive 162.19%. That is possible because net income includes items below operating income. In the second quarter of 2026 Duos Technologies (NASDAQ:DUOT) booked a gain on sale of investments of about USD 53.17 million from selling substantially all of New APR assets, then paid USD 4.98 million of income tax. Trailing revenue is small, so one large gain divided by it gives a margin above 100%. This is a base effect and not a sign of operating profitability, so the 38.58% return on equity is also inflated. Pre-tax income was USD 53.64 million in the quarter, which shows how much the gain dominates. Duos used to sell rail inspection technology and has completed the sale of that subsidiary. It is now positioning as a Data Center infrastructure company. The release lists a five-year, 55 MW hosting agreement with Axe Compute valued at more than USD 500 million, plus USD 111 million of contracted revenue for 10 MW at a Columbus, Georgia campus. It also reported about USD 43.5 million of expected 2026 revenue from bookings and a USD 55 million registered direct offering. Second quarter revenue rose 30% to USD 6.18 million, but first half revenue fell 4% to USD 8.32 million, so the story rests on contracts not yet delivered. The screener revenue growth of 63.98% is trailing and does not match the reported 30% quarter or the 4% first half decline.

Where Things Stand

On quality of earnings, Innodata (NASDAQ:INOD) looks strongest, with growth, margin and cash all supported by the August 6, 2026 results, though customer concentration is a risk. AvePoint (NASDAQ:AVPT) has recurring revenue and buybacks, but its net margin is flattered by a tax benefit. Duos Technologies (NASDAQ:DUOT) profits only on paper because of a sale gain. None has a verified catalyst for October 8, 2026, so upcoming earnings will matter most.
