Key Highlights
● Odyssey Therapeutics reported $433.1 million in cash as of June 30, 2026, funding operations into the second half of 2028, with fuller induction data for RIPK2 inhibitor OD-001 due at United European Gastroenterology Week in October 2026.
● Latigo Biotherapeutics raised close to $350 million in its August 13, 2026 debut after LTG-001 showed roughly 50% greater analgesic effect than a hydrocodone/acetaminophen comparator in a completed Phase 2b abdominoplasty study of 343 patients.
● LB Pharmaceuticals published statistically significant Phase 2 NOVA-1 schizophrenia results for LB-102 in JAMA Psychiatry on April 22, 2026, and is now enrolling the pivotal Phase 3 NOVA-2 trial with topline data expected in late 2027.
● Avalyn Pharma and Seaport Therapeutics each reported cash runways into 2029, with $413.5 million and $427.3 million in cash respectively as of June 30, 2026, funding pulmonary-fibrosis and neuropsychiatry programs toward 2027 readouts.
Five recently public, clinical-stage drug developers, each newly minted on Nasdaq during 2025 and 2026, are converting record IPO cash into pivotal trials in immunology, pain, psychiatry and pulmonary disease. Here is what the record shows, and what still has to be proven.
Five Fresh Faces From a Reopened IPO Window
The five tickers in this basket share a story that only became possible in the past year. Odyssey Therapeutics, Latigo Biotherapeutics, LB Pharmaceuticals, Avalyn Pharma and Seaport Therapeutics are all clinical-stage biotechs that reached Nasdaq through initial public offerings in 2025 or 2026, and each is now spending down a large cash pile to reach human-trial readouts.
None of them sells a product yet. All five report losses, which is normal for drug developers years from approval. What makes them worth watching is the combination of well-funded balance sheets and a dense calendar of data expected between late 2026 and 2027.
A Biotech IPO Market That Reopened With Force
The backdrop matters here. According to industry tracking data, the first half of 2026 saw 18 biotech IPOs, more than double the eight completed in all of 2025, marking the strongest first-half stretch since the pandemic-era boom. That data showed Kailera raised roughly $625 million in April and Parabilis Medicines about $670 million in June, both record-setting biotech debuts, while hair-loss developer Veradermics surged from a $17 offering price to about $118 by mid-July. The same tracking showed the SPDR S&P Biotech ETF (XBI) climbed 18% in June alone, amid improved regulatory predictability and active dealmaking.
That is the tide these five names floated in on. It is also a warning: reopened windows can close, and freshly listed small-caps feel a sentiment Reversal first.
Odyssey Therapeutics (NASDAQ:ODTX): An Immunology Bet on Innate Targets
Odyssey Therapeutics priced its IPO on 7 May 2026 and began trading the following day, selling 15.5 million shares at $18 to raise about $279 million, alongside a $25 million concurrent private placement. The company, led by CEO Gary Glick, focuses on innate immune-system targets for autoimmune and inflammatory disease.
Its lead candidate, OD-001, is a RIPK2 inhibitor being tested in ulcerative colitis. In its second-quarter 2026 update, the company said the Phase 2a expansion cohort was complete with analyses underway, and that fuller induction data would be presented at United European Gastroenterology Week in October 2026. Management said it plans to start a Phase 2b monotherapy trial and a Phase 2a combination study with vedolizumab in the second half of 2026, with topline induction data expected in the second half of 2027. A second program, the oral SLC15A4 inhibitor OD-002, is slated for a clinical trial application by year-end.
Odyssey reported $433.1 million in cash and equivalents as of 30 June 2026, funding operations into the second half of 2028, against a Q2 net loss of $52.8 million. A strong runway buys time, but the October data and 2027 readouts are the events that will test the thesis.
Latigo Biotherapeutics (NASDAQ:LTGO): Chasing a Non-Opioid Pain Label
Latigo Biotherapeutics is the newest listing of the group, pricing at $18 and debuting on 13 August 2026, when the stock opened around $21, raising close to $350 million. The Thousand Oaks, California company is developing non-opioid pain treatments.
Its lead asset, LTG-001, is a Nav1.8 inhibitor for acute pain that has FDA Fast Track designation. In a completed Phase 2b abdominoplasty study of 343 patients, the drug met its primary endpoint and showed roughly 50% greater analgesic effect than the hydrocodone/acetaminophen comparator arm. Latigo has said it believes LTG-001 could become the first systemic analgesic to carry an opioid-free label claim, with Phase 3 trials planned to begin in the second half of 2026 and results expected in mid-2027.
One caution worth stating plainly: as of 31 December 2025 Latigo held $69.4 million in cash against a 2025 net loss of $109.2 million, and auditors had previously flagged going-concern doubt that the IPO proceeds were intended to address. The efficacy signal is genuinely differentiated, but Phase 2b success does not guarantee Phase 3 replication, and the story now rests on pivotal execution.
LB Pharmaceuticals (NASDAQ:LBRX): A Benzamide Antipsychotic Heads to Phase 3
LB Pharmaceuticals is the veteran of this cohort, having priced an upsized $285 million IPO at $15 per share in September 2025, at the time described as the year's largest biotech debut. That gives this company roughly a year of trading history the others lack.
Its lead candidate, LB-102, is an oral antipsychotic and a methylated derivative of amisulpride, acting as a selective D2, D3 and 5-HT7 antagonist. If approved, coverage notes it could be the first benzamide-class antipsychotic cleared in the United States. Results from the Phase 2 NOVA-1 trial in acute schizophrenia were published in JAMA Psychiatry on 22 April 2026, showing statistically significant benefit versus placebo across all doses studied, with effects seen at week one and a safety profile marked by reduced extrapyramidal symptoms and minimal sedation.
The pivotal NOVA-2 Phase 3 schizophrenia trial is enrolling roughly 460 patients across about 25 US sites, with topline data expected in late 2027. LB Pharmaceuticals is also running the ILLUMINATE-1 Phase 2 study in bipolar depression and has signaled an adjunctive major-depression trial for early 2027. Peer-reviewed Phase 2 data and label-expansion optionality make this the most clinically de-risked name here, though a 2027 pivotal readout still governs the outcome.
Avalyn Pharma (NASDAQ:AVLN): Inhaled Antifibrotics for the Lung
Avalyn Pharma listed on Nasdaq in May 2026 in an oversized offering, and reported $316.6 million of net IPO proceeds. The company is reformulating established antifibrotic drugs for direct delivery to the lung.
Lead candidate AP01 is inhaled pirfenidone. In its second-quarter update, Avalyn Pharma said the Phase 2b MIST trial in progressive pulmonary fibrosis completed enrollment with 398 patients, above its 375-patient target, using forced vital capacity as the primary endpoint, with topline data expected in the second half of 2027. A second program, AP02 (inhaled nintedanib), entered the AURA Phase 2 trial in idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis, enrolling around 160 patients, with results anticipated in late 2027; a combination candidate, AP03, is due to begin Phase 1 by year-end 2026.
The company reported $413.5 million in cash, equivalents and marketable securities as of 30 June 2026, a runway it projects into 2029, with a Q2 net loss of $28.9 million. The inhaled-delivery premise is scientifically intuitive, concentrate drug where fibrosis lives, spare systemic tolerability, but that thesis lives or dies on the 2027 FVC data, and the runway comfortably clears those readouts.
Seaport Therapeutics (NASDAQ:SPTX): A Platform Bet on Brain Chemistry
Seaport Therapeutics, founded out of PureTech and led by CEO Daphne Zohar, completed an upsized IPO in May 2026 raising $260 million in gross proceeds. Its Glyph platform is designed to improve how oral neuropsychiatric drugs reach the brain.
Lead candidate GlyphAllo (SPT-300) is an oral allopregnanolone therapy for major depressive disorder with or without anxious distress; the Phase 2b BUOY-1 trial is enrolling globally with topline data expected in the first half of 2027, and a Phase 1 driving-simulation study is due to report in the second half of 2026. A second asset, GlyphAgo (SPT-320), completed Phase 1 with what the company described as a 6.8-fold bioavailability increase over unmodified agomelatine, with Phase 2a work in anxiety planned for late 2026. An earlier-stage program, SPT-348, is preclinical.
Seaport Therapeutics held $427.3 million in cash and investments as of 30 June 2026, a runway into 2029, and reported a Q2 net loss of $62.6 million, which it attributed largely to about $36 million of non-cash, IPO-related stock compensation. The platform breadth is appealing, but neuropsychiatry is a field with a long history of placebo-confounded trials, and the H1 2027 BUOY-1 readout is the real test.
What Investors Should Watch
Three catalysts dominate the near term. First, Odyssey's OD-001 induction update at United European Gastroenterology Week in October 2026 is the earliest hard data point of the group. Second, Seaport's Phase 1 driving-simulation readout in the second half of 2026 is a smaller but nearer milestone. Third, the wave of pivotal and Phase 2b readouts clustered in 2027, Latigo's Phase 3, LB's NOVA-2, Avalyn's MIST and AURA, and Seaport's BUOY-1, will define whether these valuations hold.
The shared risks are just as clear: clinical-trial failure, dilution from future raises, IPO lock-up expirations that can pressure thin float, and the chance the reopened IPO window narrows. Latigo's prior going-concern flag is a reminder that pre-IPO balance sheets were fragile.
Well-Funded, Not Yet Proven
All five tickers are confirmed, active Nasdaq listings, and each is genuinely fundable through its next major readout. That is the good news, and the limit of it. These are pre-revenue, single-catalyst-heavy companies whose Fair Value is a function of binary trial outcomes still months or years away. The verified facts here, cash, trial design, timelines, are a foundation for research, not a forecast. The data dates matter far more than any debut-day trading pop.
