The SP 500 Dividend Aristocrats Index consists of the company's list, which has given increasing dividend consecutively for at least 25 years. The SP will remove stock from the list of if the next year dividend happens to lower than the previous year. It mainly tracks the big performance companies, i.e. large-cap and blue-chip companies.
